This is the 4th or 5th book I have read of Dan Brown's. I have like them all. They are speedy and hard to put down. Lots of action and plenty of technology to keep me interested. I love the detail and knowledge he puts in his books. I hope to keep reading his books for years to come.
This is the first of her books I have listened to. A surprise. The reader didn't really do much in changing her voice, but there some slight differences. I thought she had a good voice and would listen to her again. The story was interesting as well. Thanks
I have been reading Elizabeth Lowell books for years. Love her, and her stories. I have also listened to Justine Eyre and even though she doesn't make me want to stop listening, I just don't care for her voice. Or the timing. She seems to be whispering and then she is also kind of a monotone. I finished the book, but may have to reread it on my kindle to get the full scope of the story.
I am over half way thru and had to quit. I just couldnt put up with the whining from the main star Emma. Everytime she got going I had to force my way thru her ranting and acting like a child. I finally called it quits after the second separation from Guy. I really think the idea of the story is good. I just cant get past Emma acting like a child and disloyal to Guy. Cant take it any more. I feel the reader performed well, just the Emma person drove me nuts.
I think this was a good story and the readers did well. But I was so tired mentally, I had to look for a funny book to listen to right after. All of the trials this girl went thru, wow. She is way nicer than me. I realize she is just a teenager, but after all of the control the reigning government had over her, you would think she would take a closer look and the future government possibilities then a shrug. *Sigh*
I enjoyed the story it was funny and had some action. I read the other reviews and they didnt like the reader. I am not a big fan of the reader but it wasnt enough to make me quit the book. I am going to continue the series, but I do hope there will be a change in the reader. She doesnt have a bad voice, but some thing is off with the ending of a word. Again, it is not enough to make me quit the story.
I liked the story really well, however, the reader M Guest didnt make me happy. I didnt mind her voice, except for the other characters she read. I didnt like the voice for Poppy. She made her sound like she was so emotionless and over 110 years old. I also didnt like the timing on her reading. There was a lot of humer in this book but you couldnt tell with the timing being off. Not sure who was to blame for that. I would like to continue the series to find out what is up with her dad, but if Mia is reading I probebly wont.
Again this had humer, murder, mystery, sex, and kept me entertained all of the way thru. I had read some reviews claiming the reader was bad. I liked her. She has a good voice and was able to keep up with the taunts. Now I am ready to listen to the rest. Like.. Now... not good with waiting.
I usually stick to the same ole same ole on my authors, so when I find one that I like it is a great surprise. The story was good and it had a ton of humer. I get the biggest kick out of the humer. Ready for the rest.
Worth the read. I thought it had some funny moments and it was a good story. Try it.
Keep them coming Dianne. I have really enjoyed keeping up with the imortals. They are fun. And Kirsten is awesome with the different accents. Cant wait to see what is up with Zach. Thanks
