Oh well, our worst fears have come to fruition. Getting back to mid-world wasn't the best idea after all.

The story is average, and truly feels as if it has nothing to do with the 7 books we have loved for years. In hindsight, that was the intent all along, but man did I miss Eddie, Jake, Susannah, Oye, and Roland, and I still miss them.

One point I should make however - this in fact may have been a good read, but listening to King's voice (which I didn't mind in Bag of Bones, Hearts in Atlantis, and others) really detracted from this story. All I could think about was how Frank Muller and George Guidall would have made this better

Give this one a try for certain! I did grow up in the 80s an could directly relate with much of the plot and loved every moment of it

I would not recommend this to a friend as this was merely av average book. The premise is actually wonderful, but Gaiman execution leaves a lot to be desired. Too many plot twists appear convenient to tie the story up into a tidy little bow as opposed to planned out with purpose.

I might try another Gaiman book if it received very positive reviews.

George Guidall is one of the best in the business and continues to impress in this audiobook. His pacing and voice is wonderful.

The recording itself was very noisy, with almost metallic noises coming through at almost every pause. It is quite distracting, although extremely faint. I found myself trying to hear the background noise instead of paying attention to the author and reader.
