"Stumbling on tediousness"
Although I am very interested in, and have read a fair amount about positive psychology, I found this book almost unlistenable. Found my happiness in switching to another book.
"Interesting and helpful"
Yes - I listen to it several times a week.

I am finding this meditation audio very helpful in dealing with chronic pain. I was skeptical, and it has not made the pain go completely away, but changing my attitude toward the pain and taking the time to meditate on it several times each week has helped a lot. I don't get depressed and anxious about the pain anymore and it does seem to be less than before.
"Charming"
I listened to this book with sadness, knowing that it's the last one that Maeve Binchy ever wrote. It is quintessential Binchy - full of charm and character development and people overcoming the obstacles in their lives. Loved it!
The characters are almost all captivating
"Terrific Historical Fiction"
I love this series and hope there are more coming because I've listened to all of them now. Story is interesting and intriguing, and the narration is excellent.
He really captures the different character's voices convincingly.
"I love Jim Harrison"
Yes. Harrison writes stories with interesting characters, and wonderful descriptive prose. He is also thought provoking. I want to read "Playing Indian" now, which is referred to many times in "The Great Leader".
"Be Careful What You Wish For"

The final one where Therese and Laurent commit suicide
No
Good read, and Kate Winslet is a wonderful narrator. I'd never read anything by Zola before, but would read him again.
"I was very disappointed"
There were a few amusing and/or heartfelt moments in this book, but the emphasis on scatalogical detail was gross. There is only so much I wish to hear about a dog's gastrointestinal and reproductive systems. Whole chapters are devoted to these matters in My Dog Tulip.
Not necessarily. I love animal stories, man/woman's best friend etc.
Probably not
Disappointment. And, I was very surprised that it had been rated so highly by other listeners. Audible listener reviews are usually a very reliable guide ofr me.
I didn't even make it half way through this story, which is very unusual for me. I've listened to hundreds of books over the past 6 or 7 years, and there have only been two or three that I've abandoned without finishing.
"The Help"
Wonderful story - spectacular narration. I enjoyed this as much as any audio book I've ever listened to.
"Deeply moving story"
I really loved the character development and story line in this book. Beautifully written about the ups and downs, successes and heartbreaks of an educated middle-class family. I've never read anything by Zadie Smith before, but will read more.
"Stephanie Plum is so much fun"
I love this series of books and am always anxious for the next one to be published. They are pure, unvarnished entertainment and fun.
