In this audio edition of the totally revised underground best seller, The E-Myth, Michael Gerber dispels the myths surrounding starting your own business and shows how commonplace assumptions can get in the way of running a business. He walks you through the steps in the life of a business, from entrepreneurial infancy, through adolescent growing pains, to the mature entrepreneurial perspective, the guiding light of all businesses that succeed.

    Overall

I was going into this book with apprehension, a fear that this was yet another "I'll show you how it is done and you will live a great life forever". But I decided to buck the critic on audible who said it was awful and got it. Well I was surprised. It gives you the basics on running a business, a department, or anything...really. It shows you some of the obvious things that you never think about and then allows you to expand on them for yourself. It's a book that I have read a number of times...well listened to, but the first that I took notes on. E-Myth Mastery is next.

What three words best describe Ed Westwick and Heather Lind ’s performance?

This is a great store and continuation from the first book.

However, having two Readers is not enhancing the story or
    entertainment factor.

    Both Readers are Marvelous.

But the Listener needs to 'keep track' of the characters through
the voices which, obviously, are not the same.

IF Ed read the Male parts solely and Heather the female parts solely
and one was the main narrator, I believe I would have enjoyed that better.

It's tough to rate their performance because each reader deserves a 5 star.

Which character – as performed by the narrators – was your favorite?

I was surprised that having so many narrators worked pretty well. When all the characters get together and all the narrators also, it will be interesting to 'hear' how they do.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My extreme reaction was: It's another 'World has ended" book. Nothing special. Not really an original story. Reminds me of "Lost".

    Any additional comments?

I do not like the way they divided up the books and also saying "Season". These are books, not a tv show.
So it's on my "if nothing else comes up, i'll continue" list.
It's an experiment and I give it a solid 3.

What about Jennifer Ehle’s performance did you like?

Jennifer has a good range of voices. Although her 'enthusiasm' at key points is lacking she is still a very good Reader. I'm hoping that, in future books, she is able to emote the character's emotions better. But overall a good 4 out of 5.

    Any additional comments?

This is an enjoyable book. Since it is 'tagged' as a prequel, I'll look forward to the rest of the series.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I think those who feel that getting to the core of your problem and exploring the reason for you behavior is not the way to solve the issue will love this.

What was most disappointing about Lyndall Briggs’s story?

Come on: I will Hypnotize you and all your problems will go away.
If you have a drinking issue then having someone just say soothing words
is not the solution. The solution is to discover why you have this issue.
My bad for picking this up.

What about the narrator’s performance did you like?

She did good. I like her performance and the way she narrates

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Enjoy Drinking Less Alcohol?

Well she has Stress and other things here. This is for drinking less so stay on target.

    Any additional comments?

It gives you a good feeling for a while but sooner or later you need help facing your issue. This ain't it.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Throne of Glass?

I found that the characters did not really live up to their background or expectations.
Everyone seem to be a 12-year-old adolescent.
Whether it was the performer, writer or director the entire story was mostly annoying.
I went through half of it and at the end all I could say was: wow what an annoying leading character this was.
I simply would not recommend this storyline or series.

In his bravest and most challenging book yet, Seth Godin shows how we can thrive in an economy that rewards art, not compliance. He explains why true innovators focus on trust, remarkability, leadership, and stories that spread. And he makes a passionate argument for why you should be treating your work as art. Art is not a gene or a specific talent. It's an attitude, available to anyone who has a vision that others don't, and the guts to do something about it.

Nope, he is completely off my reading list.

What do you think your next listen will be?

    Not this guy's work: Yawn

What didn’t you like about Seth Godin’s performance?

Seth should really have hired a pro. He is monotonous. It's hard to concentrate and understand his passion for this topic because his voice has no personality.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Icarus Deception?

About 4/5ths would be cut. He drones on about how his vision is good because its good.
He repeats the same message over and over. There are no practical examples but rather things analogous to "take the good road" and "This is good, the old is bad so follow the way". Some good advice, the 1/5th, but the rest just repeated dribble.

    Any additional comments?

If you like books like "Chicken Soup for the Soul" then you will probably like this.

Renowned novelist and screenwriter Mark Frost turns his eye for golf to an event so famous that it’s grown to the stuff of legend. In 1956, a casual bet between two millionaires eventually pitted two of the greatest golfers of the era—Byron Nelson and Ben Hogan—against top amateurs Harvie Ward and Ken Venturi. Frost recounts this dramatic tale from start to finish, detailing the match that vaulted golf out of the shadows and into the national spotlight.

The Match is a fascinating history of an era in golf that is long gone. The author does a fine job at bringing it all back to life mixing the player's biographies with the game. The After Word is not really needed but interesting. The Appendix is really depressing and the final word leaves you on a down note.I wouldn't bother with it if I knew. One complaint is Audible. After a touching final word from the author there is literally no pause between the finalwords and "the end!".Come on, Guys. Give us a moment to reflect on the story before jumping in with the last word.Otherwise a fine book and history lesson. Who'd a Thunk that Bing Crosby ... well I've said enough. ;)

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Have one author. Take the original story arc then go through it to a conclusion.
After a while, the same old 'poor fellow' concept gets tiring very quickly.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The original idea was very good. I wish the follow up stories took better advantage of it.

What about Luke Daniels???s performance did you like?

Good voices, characterizations, pace and style.
Why can't Men stop the falsetto when speaking as a woman?
All they need to is stop the vibrations in their voice box and speak a half octave higher.
    His "girl voice" needs work.

Could you see Wild Cards I being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

Sure just like all the other depressing series we see on tv.

    Any additional comments?

The story idea is very good.
However the story arc is then given to a number of authors who feel it is their job to show how horrible things can turn out.
Although entertaining, about half way through the 'book' you get the idea it's the same old same old.
    The reader is very good.
But I won't bother with Wild Cards II nor any other in the series.
Just one original idea then a whole bunch of 'I'm so creative' writers who aren't.

For over three decades, the great inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil has been one of the most respected and provocative advocates of the role of technology in our future. In his classic The Age of Spiritual Machines, he argued that computers would soon rival the full range of human intelligence at its best. This is all speculation not taking economics, politics, current sociology or true logics into account. The book violates dozens of fallacies and merrily proceeds to its conclusion. If you believe in the paranormal, then sure, enjoy the fantasy ride. But be aware that the monotone reader and real lack of true evidence will attempt to sway you to a fantasy world similar to those of spiritualism, belief in spectors and mystism.Just total crap.Save your credit or donate it to a worthy cause.Did i also mention boring? *yawn*
