Not this guy's work: Yawn

Seth should really have hired a pro. He is monotonous. It's hard to concentrate and understand his passion for this topic because his voice has no personality.

About 4/5ths would be cut. He drones on about how his vision is good because its good.
He repeats the same message over and over. There are no practical examples but rather things analogous to "take the good road" and "This is good, the old is bad so follow the way". Some good advice, the 1/5th, but the rest just repeated dribble.

If you like books like "Chicken Soup for the Soul" then you will probably like this.

The Match is a fascinating history of an era in golf that is long gone. The author does a fine job at bringing it all back to life mixing the player's biographies with the game.The After Word is not really needed but interesting.The Appendix is really depressing and the final word leaves you on a down note.I wouldn't bother with it if I knew.One complaint is Audible.After a touching final word from the author there is literally no pause between the finalwords and "the end!".Come on, Guys. Give us a moment to reflect on the story before jumping in with the last word.Otherwise a fine book and history lesson. Who'd a Thunk that Bing Crosby ... well I've said enough. ;)

Have one author. Take the original story arc then go through it to a conclusion.
After a while, the same old 'poor fellow' concept gets tiring very quickly.

The original idea was very good. I wish the follow up stories took better advantage of it.

Good voices, characterizations, pace and style.
Why can't Men stop the falsetto when speaking as a woman?
All they need to is stop the vibrations in their voice box and speak a half octave higher.
His "girl voice" needs work.

Sure just like all the other depressing series we see on tv.

The story idea is very good.
However the story arc is then given to a number of authors who feel it is their job to show how horrible things can turn out.
Although entertaining, about half way through the 'book' you get the idea it's the same old same old.
The reader is very good.
But I won't bother with Wild Cards II nor any other in the series.
Just one original idea then a whole bunch of 'I'm so creative' writers who aren't.

This is all speculation not taking economics, politics, current sociology or true logics into account.The book violates dozens of fallacies and merrily proceeds to its conclusion.If you believe in the paranormal, then sure, enjoy the fantasy ride.But be aware that the monotone reader and real lack of true evidence will attempt to sway you to a fantasy world similar to those of spiritualism, belief in spectors and mystism.Just total crap.Save your credit or donate it to a worthy cause.Did i also mention boring? *yawn*

I was worried that with "True Blood" the timber and pace of the Sookie stories would change. Nope. They are nicely verbose and laid back.
Another Excellent story that is a delight to listen to.

Amusing, witty and charming.
Connie Willis' characters and plots and twist, in this book, are extremely entertaining.
And to get a glimpse of these parts in history told by 'actual' characters just makes her Historian books some of the best to read...to say nothing of the dog.

Yeah...I'm having trouble with this and I think they simply missed the boat by having a man, an excellent narrator, read a woman's biography. The story is excellent and interesting. But be prepared for Helen Hayes with a very deep voice. As much as I was finding it interesting to listen to, I had to simply stop.
It's sort of creepy.

I could only get through 2 hours and 58 minutes before I gave up. The reader simply is not seasoned enough to give this book its justice. Mixed with a bit of a rasp, inconsistent voices, and contantly changing tones and expressions that did not really fit the content, I had to hit delete and move on and buy the paperback.
I think the reader has potential so after this apprenticeship period, his next book may be worth it the listen. But check the sample before you buy and listen if his voice is going to drive you to delete.

Wow, this is either a "Love" or "Hate" relationship with this book. I did like it. It was not 'action packed' but did bring up interesting ideas and a pretty good perspective to her life. If you are ready to sit back and enjoy a good tale, then this is good. If you think that, after listening to this, you wasted 20+ hours of your life, then Geez, don't listen past the first 3 hours. d'uh.
Good book, good narrator, good story.

Given that this title was written a long time ago in a world far far from ours, I'm impressed. The 'corny' dialog wasn't corny then. So if you take that into account, it's a great book.

Now please, let's have a professional acting team. I was so annoyed with the poor performance that I will stay away from that 'acting' team in the future. Hence the 2 stars.
