"one of the best"
This is one of Kings best works by far. The narrator takes some time to get used too. but after a few hours, you wouldnt want anyone else to read this for you.
"Great narrators..but bad story"
I really like some of Picoult's books. But this one was not very good. It's not what i would expect from her. Dont know what i can say that wont give anything away in the book, other then, The audible description of this book doesn't mention the holocaust. and it a big part of this book. And the ending is pretty awful.
"The best of the best"
Never have i read a series where the author gave such life to his characters. Not only did the story make me smile....but his writing style also made me smile though out the series. Its a long one. 500 hours or so of listening pleasure.
I'm not writing this review for the Memory of Light. if you listened to this, you are a fan. This is a review to let those who didnt know about or start Robert Jordans epic story. It is worth every credit spent...along with every minute of your time listening. Two of the best narrators in the business giving more life then reading the books could ever do.
This is a epic story. So epic it took 14 books to tell it. So epic...that even after the death of Robert Jordan. He outlined the story so another author could take up the story, and give us a ending he wanted us to hear. The fan base is huge. as the reviews of all the other books will prove.
In my opinion, This series is better the The lord of the Rings. Better the The Game of Thrones (The Song of Fire and Ice by George RR Martain) Its a fantasy readers must read!!
So do yourself a favor. Spend your credits on The Wheel of Time series.
“The Wheel of Time turns, and Ages come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the Age that gave it birth comes again.”
"Great Story...horrible ending"
I love the narraters. they did a great job. I love the story and the charaters, But the ending was bad. I cant go into why i hated the ending without giving anything away.
"YAY!!! Roy Dotrice is back!!!"
Well for some reason Roy wasnt the narrator for book 4...but hes back in book 5. (as well in the HBO series Game of Thornes) He does a awesome job reading for this series. And i am so glad to hear his voice again. im only 4 hours or so into this book so far..and am so excited.... Terrian Lasnister (the imp) is my favorite...and im happy to see him again...and only after 4 hours...im so excited. And i hate to say this...but i cant wait to goto work tomarrow..so i can put my cans on and listen to the rest of this book...almost 50 hours of pure enjoyment im sure. oh happy happy joy joy :o)
"good ....but not great"
I had high hopes for this one. I bought it cause a friend said it matched up with George RR Martain "song of ice and fire" series. but fell way short. Weeks isnt the writer Martian is....nor does he match up with Sanderson or Jordan in the fantasty realm. It seems he dont bring the story to life. And the narrator isnt the best either. I like detail....and to me, it lacks in that.
"Great listen"
I never tried a book in this genere. Im a big swords and magic fan...along with legal thrillers. And other manley type books. but i gave this a whirl cause of the reviews. And i loved it. the narrators where awesome They brought the characters to life. I give it 5 stars even though i thought the aurthor could have added more at the end of the book.
"The best so far"
i never enjoyed a book (audio book that is) so much as i did this one. With Robert Jordan passing away i never thought the series would be finished. or at least as grand as it has been with Sanderson co writing. I cant belive theres only one more book left. theres soo much that has yet to be told. if they told us that there woud be another 6 books...i would be so happy. i dont want it to end!!
if you never started reading this series. i suggest you start. the narators are awesome. the story is EPIC. and wont get a better story. Roll the dice...and become a thread in the wheel of time!
"i wanted to like it"
I gave Hobb a second chance with this book. I read shammans crossing and the forest mage. and didnt like it. no action...and hoped there would be some kind of action in this book. and no, i didnt get it. Hobb tells a good story. but no action. no wars...no fights to but you at the edge of your seat. Good story telling...but the story is boring
"Great Listen!!"
What a Great book!. The Story is very smooth. The Characters are well developed and likable. Its got all you want in a fantasy book. Blood, guts, magic, heroes and villains. its got alot of action and some good humor blended in. The narrator does a great job. cant wait to listen to the next two books. And im sure if your a Geaorge RR Martain fan..you will enjoy this too.
