"Good Foundational Basics (entire textbook)"
The most enjoyable part of this experience was the fact that I could listen to each chapter individually. I won't be writing individual chapter reviews as this review will encompass my feedback on the entire textbook.
There are a few textbooks out there specifically focused on General Psychology and General Physiology. This text focuses solely on Sexuality which I find unique. It is a foundational text so those of us with three degrees will find it introductory. I purchased the book as I was curious to see what were some recent publications and I was curious to read how inclusive texts are now since I completed my undergraduate degree in 2001. Much of the actual information I listened to was information that I was already familiar with through my work experience and/or other reading.
The author is a woman and the narrator is male. Some of the personal information written by the author thus was conveyed by a male which would have distracted the thinking process for a moment. This is unnecessary. The narrator should have been a female. The narrator also didn't sound like he was very interested in the subject matter. If I didn't really want to listen to the book, the narrator would have turned me off.
This was a textbook so there wasn't a real story to generate this kind of emotion.
Great introductory material, just change the narrator.
"Great presentation!"
The only reason I would reference the print version is if I need to quote a page number. I was very satisfied with the audio edition. Given my present situation, I would not have been able to sit down and read a text such as this.

I have not heard this narrator before and I am very pleased with his performance compared to some others who narrate texts. He uses inflections and pauses when required.
As this was a text, I was very pleased with the presentation. It did not produce any emotional reaction with the exception of some "Ah..ha" moments when explanations were elaborated.
I would highly recommend this book to any person who is involved in a "helping profession", parents, counsellors, religious leaders, and community leaders. This book will assist persons with raising their children and assist individuals to exercise preventative behaviours rather than reactive behaviours.
"Creative and Enlightening!"
The fables and their association with real live examples of people was the most enjoyable but I can't help but to think that it is my own mental associations of putting people I know and work with in those positions of the
Well, there can't be any one character that would be my favourite but whenever there is a mean person that ends up getting what he deserves in the end, I can't help but to smile.
Terrence Gargiulo was more animated in his narration than Gini Graham Scott. Ms. Scott's performance almost lost me at the beginning and I was worried that her narration would not have kept my attention throughout the book. Mr. Gargiulo was very articulate and sometimes over emphasized at the wrong points but I was not disturbed as he kept my attention more than Ms. Scott. Ms. Scott sounded very tired.
Yes it was. I am encountering difficult people in my workplace and if time permitted, I would have listened to this book in one sitting. I believe it only took me 2 sittings over a weekend while I was doing housework.
This book was very informative and I was very glad to have purchased it. I may even go back and listen to it again soon so that I don't lose the great perspectives that were provided. It was well-written.
"Imaginative and Creative!"
This book ranks among the best that I have listened to thus far. It has a creative storyline and most of all, it was read very well by the narrator. I didn't get lost or sleepy as can sometimes happen without good narrators.
My favourite character has got to be Susan Fletcher. I do have to admit that this is a biased choice as she is a very accomplished woman and holds a significant position in a highly secure organization. She holds many responsibilities but most of all she is well respected by men in the organization. She is someone that I respect and commend being a woman who is also accomplished and can relate to her with respect to the characteristics revealed.
He read the book with great enthusiasm and interest. I could hear it in his voice. This brought out all of the suspense and drama into the arena of performance rather than just feeling as though he was reading it because he had to.
There had to be many moments but the end brought me great relief. After all of the events that brought the blood pressure up and the heart racing, it was nice to relax and hear the end worked out in a calm and relaxing atmosphere, and informative and educational as well.
Although the book was written in 1998, it still held its modern relevance within 2011 when I listened to it.
