The warm-hearted story and the excellent narrator.

The main character carried the story, well helped by the various people who happended to come her way.

I loved the way she freed herself and let the words become alive and natural.

The book made me smile!

You just have to wish them all the best.... The book warms you up inside.

Bought the book on sale and didn't really put it high on my agenda to listen to. Big mistake. I understand now that this is an independent sequel but no problem. Very, very thrilling and thanks to an descriptive author and excellent narrators I litteraly spent those hours in New Orelans and L.A. I saw it all, every detail - and my blood pressure rose and fell in alignment with the story. Well spent time and money.

As a Norwegian myself it was interesting following J.P. Beaumont into the Norwegian community. His observations on "Akevitt" is something I belive most foreigners and alot of Norwegians can relate to! As before, Gene Engene IS Beaumont. It should be considered an ID-theft and a fellony to have anyone else do the part. I'm slowly running out of Beaumont/Engene/unabridged books. I see a difficult withdrawal process coming my way!

Following J.P. Beaumont is very addictive and the more I know him the more I love him. J.A. Jance is a master author!

This was my first J.A. Jance book. I was not even halfway through it before I searched the net for her full bibliography. I have a feeling I'll be reading them all - and will most likely be spending more than my monthly credits on her books. Gene Engene is a master as narrator and deserves whatever the corresponding award there is to an Oscar to audiobook narrators. He IS J.P. Beaumont and I hope he remains through the series.

... but please, get the narrator off the playing field! Even in British English you don't need to drag out the last syllable of each and every word! It was extremely annoying and terribly over-dramatized. The plot was decent enough with a slightly surprising end.

Following the trail of Iles/Rizzoli once again - a slightly different type this time around. Gerritsen keeps you guessing what's around the corner and makes it hard to use the off button on the player. Being a great fan I loved the book, not so much the narrator.

I do love the Daisy Dalrumple (now Fletcher) books. The "innocent" crime along with the underlying love-story, not to mention the charming lingo is enchanting!

I enjoyed the glimpse into a foreign time long gone. Predictable happy ending, but then again, what's wrong with a happy ending?
