I have liked all the other Jeffery Deaver books, but this one I just can't get in to. I'm going to wait a little bit and try again, but I would spend my credit on something else.
I did enjoy the story, but I'm getting really tired of the female detective whining about wanting to have sex all the time! It really distracts from the story.
I don't feel that it was a waste of a credit to buy this book, but I don't see me buying book 2 either. It was okay.
I really the pairing of James Patterson and Maxine Paetro on The Women's Murder Club, so I thought I would try this one. I enjoyed it. I've bought the 2nd book, but haven't listened to it yet. Maxine Paetro is not the co-author on this one and there is a different narrator, so we shall see.
I normally like Nelson DeMille's books, but this one was just bad. It was long and boring. The narration was devoid of emotion. The characters were one dimensional and I just didn't like anything about them. The only characters in the story I liked died. What a waste of time and money.
I have liked all the Joe Ledger books and this was no exception. This book wasn't as gory or as action packed as the others and I missed that, but it was still a good book.
I really like book 1, Ashes, and was looking forward to book 2. It totally lost my interest. Too many new characters were introduced and it didn't make me care about them. Tom and Alex were not really in the story until the end. We learned nothing new about the Changed or about anything else. Where's the little girl? She was not part of the story and I forgot her name already. She is mentioned once or twice. Before I buy the 3rd book I'm going to read the reviews. I read the reviews for this book and thought it can't be that bad, the first book as good. Listen to the reviews on this one and skip it.
I really liked this book. It was another end of the world as we know it scenerio, but I liked the EMP caused it. Can't wait for book 2.
This book is different, but I liked it at the start. With about an hour left to go it just ran out of steam. It felt like the author didn't know how to end the story. There was no climax, it just kind of petered out.
I have enjoyed all the Sookie books and True Blood, but I didn't like the wrap up of Sookie's story. Felt forced. It is a must read if you have read all the other books, but that's about it.
I have listened to other Jonathan Maberry book and loved them, but this one was not for me. I couldn't finish it.
