Mystery, history, & technology are what I like to read, even better if they are inter connected. I will love a book and get lost in it or hate it and never make it all the way through. I love getting so into a book that is feels it's actually happening in my life and at the end feel a void I need to fill with another good book.

It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Too many good ones to choose, Papa? Lisel? Rudy? Max?

Have you listened to any of Allan Corduner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No but I would love to hear more, his voice MADE this book. I know others have read the book themselves but have listened to this version for the performance

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the description of the characters. I read this before watching the movie and had my mind made up on what the characters looked like and how they moved.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrators did an amazing job bringing the characters to life, I felt as though I was sitting around a table listening to each one of them tell their stories.

If you could rename The Help, what would you call it?

If anything just Help, since that is what they came up with but I like the name.

    Any additional comments?

Sad to finish it, definitely a good read, worth the money or a credit.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

What did you like best about this story?

I really liked the suspense but most of all the gripping emotions you felt for each character throughout the book.

What about Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s performance did you like?

I enjoyed Julia and Kirby's performance, I felt as though the characters were telling the story themselves rather than the book being narrated to me.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes but I don't want to spoil it, you'll know when you get there and you'll want to call the closest person you know who has read it to discuss.

    Any additional comments?

Anytime I read a book and want to call other people who read it, or tell other people about what is going on in the story, or feel sad when I finish it, I know its a great book.
The search is on to fulfill my next good read.

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts.
