"Very interesting and intriguing"
This is a book that suggests a very interesting hypothesis that never occurred to me: that cooking made the apes human! This is a strong insight into the descent of man on Earth. The whole saga is revealed with "detective" skills by the author and this makes the lecture interesting to follow.
Some of the findings are also useful for the modern man trying to fight obesity and other are important from the anthropological perspective to the modern life issues as man-female relationship and place in society.
A very good book!
"Brilliant logic and atheist umanism"
I would listen it again for the great reasoning of Cristopher Hitchens and for the deep emotions carried by his narration.
The book dismantles the so called humanism of the religion showing that the Gods of various religions are not good and not just and, happily they do not exist.
Hitchens shows that our morality does not come from religion, but it precedes religions, that are man made creations.
I like that parts where he dismantles the goodness of the religions exposing them as cruel and imoral.
Hitch is reading his own creation and he compensates the voice of a narrator with the emotion and conviction carried by his voice.
God is not great, but Hitch was!
"A call for reason!"
Yes, I might do it in the future, because of the valuable information contained and the style: it is easy to follow, intriguing, mind-opening.
The book is very well organized: it flows from the beginning to the end and keeps you comitted to listen and learn more.
The proof that our moral system is not derrived from religion.
Why we don't need God to understand the World!
Highly recommended.
"Life saving book"
If you are fat challanged, as Americans say, this book could be life saving. Most of nutritionists treat people like machines: daily consumption-energy spent=what you earn or lose. This is simply wrong, because people are not machines and energy balance is not the reason why we get fat. This book offers a better explanation, a scientific one and offers a viable alternative to get leaner and stay lean. The reader will fully understand why we get fat and what to do about this.
Additionally, the audiobook is well written and well read.
"Interesting, engaging"
It's a new World, one that you cannot and should not approach with the mindset of the 20th Century.
New time, new thinking. This is the ideea of the book and is briliantly expressed by the authors. It is an enterteining story that openminded folks will enjoy.
"A frieghtening call for action"
I wish I have read it when my son was 5. Now he is 13 and some of the evils depicted in the book have already affected him. Anyway, it is a must read if you are a parent, especially a parent of a boy.
"An eye opening book"
When I listened this book I tought: how could I have been so stupid to lose of sight the demografics in the past? Gronbach speaks about the influence of generations in marketing in a way that is easy to understand, entertaining and challenging. When you finish his book, you are already a better marketer!
"Breath-taking"
Gladwell did it again! Outliers is captivating, intriguing and you cannot let it aside until you finish it!
As it was the case with his previous books, it made me change my behaviour.
You must listen this great book!
"Useful and humbling experience"
The author shows the steep and short road that separates success from failure and how easy is to let success poison one company's future. It happens every day. It is a humbling experience because it shows how vanity has destroyed great companies and is a good lesson to learn. It also helps the investor to see behind the numbers and investigate if the company hides "bad habits" that could ultimately lead to destruction.
Good management book!
"An awakening message"
This is an excellent book: it really reminds you that customers are ruling and many companies are forgeting this at their own expense.
The book provides and easy to apply methodology to realy focus your business to the customers, in fact, not in declarations. It gets upgraded from 4 to 5 stars for the practical methodology described by the author.
I recommend the book to anybody who wants to excel in business.
