The book reeks of bad social commentary. Dont get me wrong, most book do have some kind of social message to deliver or point to make, but this book goes way too far, too fast, and is just plain heavy handed about it. Its reads like a collaboration between the unibomber, Michael Moore, and Hugo Chavez.
No, but I will definitely NOT read any other books in this series or written by this author.
He tries, but the book is so poorly written that he clearly struggles with it. Its like the author is trying too hard to show the reader how smart he is by gobbing on the sub-references and techno speech. The narrator comes off sounding like comedian Dennis Miller trying to give one of his famous rants on an excessive dose of Prozac.
Disappointment in the book and relief that I didn't spend a single penny of my money on it.
I am in my mid forties and I can only recall 3 books in my life that I started but didn't finish because they were just so bad that they weren't worth the continued effort. Usually I will struggle though and give the author the benefit of the doubt and hope the book improves as I keep reading. This book will likely become the fourth. Its just too bad to merit any more of my time and attention.
Probably, its a pretty good story, but the terrible editing take away from it alot
I have not
Yes, but barely
Tons of really stupid technical mistakes. Not just the annoying little stuff that fanboys love to point out, but stuff that a lot of everyday people would pick up on. For examples, Ford doesn't make the S-10 pickup, Chevy does and The Delta Force is not part of the Marine Corps. These are just two GLARING examples. There's a lot more subtle stuff two, things that any 5th grader with an internet connection could have check on and corrected. One or two of these is understandable, but this book is LOUSY with them! It really takes away from the experience.
