This book was not as interesting as the first the only reason I finished it was to find out the ending and I hate to stop in the middle of something and not finish. Book 1 was much better.
Just finished "Written in My Own Heart's Blood". If you are an avid fan of the "Outlander" series this book will blow your socks off. So many of the cliff hangers from the previous books are answered. But then new questions and new directions are asked and taken. Do not read this book first. I was very sad when I realized the end was coming and many key questions were left up in the air. I was even sadder still when I read the acknowledgements and Diana said it took 4 years to write on of these books. I groaned inwardly. This book does not disappoint. Those readers who haven't read the previous books do the work and read the others first. Can't believe it will be another four years before the next installment...
This is one of the lamest books ever. Reads very much like Lucifer s Hammer. Another not so interesting read. Save your money and time don't get this book.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. If you have already read the Riyria Revelations this book gives the background for those books. All of the same players in this book but it explains how they all met and formed friendships and relationship in Revelations. But this a stand alone book and you don't need to have read Revelations first. So pick this book and get read for a truly most excellent read.
Can't believe I finished the 3 books hoped for a redemption, but it never came. Only read this series if you have nothing else to read.
I don't believe young adults would fall for this. The story starts out fair and then degenerates to another version of the Hunger Games. I kept an open mind and listened to the entire trilogy, but it did not get better but worse. The first book was intriguing. So I listened on. The first book was ok.
I did not like this book it felt like a transition and came to no conclusions.
So far this series has been a an exceptional read. The author tackles the subject of religion and our day to day existence with an eye opening story that is approching a plausible reason for the existence of humans. This series would be a wonderful big screen movie. I would easily read these books multiple times. The narrator is excellent.
This book I found to be very engaging. Being in health care industry...the discription of how Capt. Tripps is passed along I found to be very accurate. Again there is the timeless struggle between good and evil and those who are fence sitters waiting to see which side will prevail. After reading this book I could become a King fan. I like authors who provide detail and fill the story with descriptions that I can relate to. This book is not disappointing.
I was looking forward to this book. However it was a bit of a let down
The war with the Church of God was a bit to much. I didn't need to know how all of the battles brutally killed people on both sides. I didn't need to know the in depth discussion of bore pressures etc. about the guns. There were many threads left hanging and I found that to be frustrating. I hope the next book doesn't take another year to come out. I could easily loose interest in the series and just stop reading them. This book felt like a filler book just to keep the readers on the hook, but I just might spit the hook out.
