Grandma Mazur pops in with her always hilarious one liners and we have plenty of Ranger and Morelli. The plot is strong centered around the mysterious Ricardo Carlos Manoso...who needs to use Stephanies apartment as a safe house. But don't think Morelli is out of the picture. He is definitely in and makes no bones about what he'll do to Ranger if he crosses the line.

Jane Darlington is a genius at physics, but there's one problem she can't solve. She yearns for a child, but wants to spare it the pain of growing up as...well, a nerd. And surely any child of Jane's would be a little too brainy for the playground set. So she sets out to find a special man to father her child, someone without too much gray-matter between his ears: in short, a big, strong dope. Cal Bonner, legendary pro quarterback, seems to fit the bill. But there's something Dr. Jane hasn't counted on.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because I can listen to it over and over again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Jane Darlington and probably Cal's grandmother. But I love Cal's mother too. They are all strong women who put their own sense of self first. I want to be one of SEP's characters in my next life!

Have you listened to any of Anna Fields’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Anna Fields, may she rest in peace, is still one of the top 3 narrators in the world of Audible Fiction. Her characterization and intonation is consistent and flawless. I will miss her forever.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Cal's mom tells his dad how he made her feel when he didn't acknowledge her as his wife...

    Any additional comments?

Any of SEP's books stand alone but they are all fabulous...this is in my top 2 or 3, no...top 2!

In his newest collection of essays, David Sedaris lifts the corner of ordinary life, revealing the absurdity teeming below its surface. His world is alive with obscure desires and hidden motives, a world where forgiveness is automatic and an argument can be the highest form of love. Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim is another unforgettable collection from one of the wittiest and most original writers at work today.

Instead of saying "I do" to Mr. Irresistible, Lucy Jorik hitches a ride on the back of a beat-up motorcycle with a rough looking, bad-tempered stranger who couldn't be more foreign to her privileged existence. While the world searches for her, Lucy must search for herself, and she quickly realizes that her customary good manners are no defense against a man who's raised rudeness to an art form. Lucy needs to toughen up - and fast. Her great escape takes her to his rambling beach house on a Great Lakes island. Here, she hopes to find a new direction...and to unlock the secrets of this man who knows so much about her.

This is a perfect summer read. Lucy escapes the alter on the back of his motorcycle. All that togetherness leads to some steamy nights. Lucy is not ready to return to her "real" life and heads to a summer vacation community. There she meets new friends, all colorful characters fully developed by Ms. Phillips. But the crux of this novel is the heat between Panda and Lucy. Can the former first lady's daughter capture the heart of one damaged, former cop and soldier?

Definitely worth finding out for yourself.
    Narration is good.
Having been a fan of Anna Fields, I was deeply saddened to learn of her death. Shannon Cochran has a tough act to follow but does an admirable job.

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

What about Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s performance did you like?

What did you love best about Any Man of Mine?

I liked the "Any Man of Mine" theme...and all the characteristics Autumn wanted in her man.

What did you like best about this story?

The relationship between Connor (the son) and his parents. I also thought Vince the brother could lead to another book in this series...or a Navy Seal series.

What does Kathe Mazur bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Hot, sexy voice for Sam LeClaire. There were times I had to replay missed phrases but overall she made him sound really decadent.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

something about heat on the ice and steam after dark...

    Any additional comments?

I've enjoyed this series. I'd like to see Audible acquire rights for the earlier books.

The West was not so wild for Janie Fitzhugh. Living with her rancher husband, Abe Lawson, in rural Wyoming nearly broke her spirit, so she left. But eight years later, she returns to Muddy Gap to take a job at a new resort. When an unexpected danger arises, Abe seizes the chance to protect Janie and prove he's a changed man. Janie's employer at the Split Rock Ranch and Resort, Renner Jackson, has gotten himself tangled up in a devil's bargain trying to finish the construction. His new partner's daughter, Tierney Pratt, is a spoiled daddy's girl and off-limits-no matter how drop-dead gorgeous she is.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes - the style of narration is mumbled. The "acting" is not what I am used to from other writers. I have read many of Lorelei James books and enjoyed them but this is so garbled it's hard to follow.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

    Nothing Really

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator should consider emphasizing consonant sounds even when using western dialect. A story is no good is the reader only "hears" half of it.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

Understanding what was said and much better character development. I really didn't care if any of these characters lived or died. I didn't "know" any of them.
