"Wish this had been on a hit list..."
Perhaps anything redeaming or exceptional about this hitman... A better run down on the events that caused him to run... Less naval gazing from a contract killer... Don't want to spoil anything, but there isn't really any reason for him to be a hitman.
Fantasy and economics books I've been wanting to get to.
The last chapters were good, until the author decided we needed a really odd and completely misplaced flashback sequence.
Bordom, it was a strugle to get through this short book. If it had been a two parter I probably wouldn't have finished.
The narration was great, well acted even if the accent was a bit thick.
"Only a 3 hour book, and honestly couldn't make it"
A better director, the narrator has a solid voice and fits the lead, and I'm fairly certain people can't talk for 2 hours straight without a breath.
It's a romance novel, people are not buying it to get it done quickly, so why the insane rush? Seriously, I think every pause and break for puncuation was removed.
It's sub-par in the fantasy genere, 2 hours in and their is little mystery to it, ecept the parts her family won't tell her even as they insist on her embracing some heritage.
If I'd heard it, I'd tell you... having not heard her before (this is the only audible title with her preforming) I can't say if it's her or the post-production... but either she's a freak who doesn't have to breath... or someone butchered her preformance in post-work. I'm going with the latter.
Blah...
It's a cheap book, with cheap production quality, but it seems odd to me... since I can't see this being made for CD release, cutting down the time to play is really odd.
"Narration was good, but flat"
Since I've listened to all the preceding chapters and I'm looking forward to the next, I guess it was... but this was the most painful to get through.
The narration... John Glover is not bad, his voice is easy to listen to and he speaks with a good cadiance... but his lack of range changed a lot of voices to something very different. Harry's god mother is a perfect example, turning her from temptress to banshie changes the the story quite a bit. Also a lot of the
Marsters
I'm borderline one if I'd actually recomend this to a fan of the series, you wouldn't miss much in the series development... The narration change kills any feeling of universe within the first chapter.
