i have read (listened) to several hundred books on audible and i am always looking for a new author. i first started with his reading of on chesil beach and was blown away and immediatly downloaded saturday, which was just extraordinary. how fortunate we are to have someone of his talent. he's in a class by himself.
Am a great fan of Ken Follett. Read ALL of his works. Am disappointed after having listened to Herman Wouk's Winds of War and War and Remembrance. Would have been a so so listen regardless.
Really looked forward to the book. Took awhile for the story to gain traction. Then became predictable. More of a movie plot line. Not crazy about the reader. Grisham can do a lot better.
a terrific and insightful listen. although obama made a thoughtful
and narrow choice, he acted rationally based upon the information available to him. regardless of his options and his ultimate choice, the jury will be out. let's hope for the best
I read Corrections and I found it interesting. I only got through 1/3 of
Freedom:A Novel. It just became tedious. (Considering all the fanfare, I'm wondering "what's wrong with me?") I found Jonathan Franzen a poor man's John Updike. Thought the reader was just so so.
enjoyed the characters, the storyline and the reader. BRAVO. sorry to hear that the author died. would have been on my radar. understand that this is the first of a trilogy. looking forward to the other two.
read all of stephen hunter's earlier books and found this one unsatisfying. started off well, and the initial premise
kept me going, but the story diverted. i started tuning out
at the end. got tired of the reader. a little too folksy for me.
