I probably would
The story in its self is just sad. While I didnt hate the book there is nothing erotic about the story.
nothing? She did fine.
It was nice to have a break to absorb the depth of what was happening.
We are all prisons of our own devise...
I love this book! I read The Shining over 15yrs ago and re-read to freshen my memory in anticipation for Doctor Sleep (I am about half way through & <3 it!) .
I love that the book is different from the movie. <3 <3
I don't know if there was any one thing about the performance that stood out, good or bad. No complaints! :)
laugh or cry??? no.... but scare the hell out of me yes!
very much worth the credit!
I would say safely on the "like" side :)
I really hate this question. It is almost always impossible to answer without giving away the juicy goods!
His voice fit perfectly in my opinion. I could clearly distinguish the characters by their mood & emotions carried out in his voice. Bravo Eli Wallach :) Nicely read!
This book dragged on in a few places. So if you get easily distracted during the dry moments this might not be a read for you. Plus I was left with several unanswered questions. I had to go back and listen to several chapters again to keep up. A few chapters seemed to run together in a blur. BUT... over all I liked the book. I love how it forces you to question your perception of awareness.
It is worth the credit! But be prepared for a few dry (maybe repetitious is a better word) moments.
I would have to say I liked actually reading the book vs audio. I love when King narrates his books and using music is a common prop during his readings BUT... the music was loud at times, (which wasn't the main reason for not liking it) and corny??? That is the word that comes to mind when it was played. Almost out of place. Maybe that only makes sense to me??? lol Either way the few issues I had with the music wouldn't stop me from listening again. Like most King books its kind of slow to start but thats why we love King right??? all the details and time he invests in setting up every character. I often wonder what 1 day in his head feels like. Kudos S.K.!
Worth the credit
yes if course! although I said the movie was better I still loved the book. I think my biggest problem was I saw the movie first. either way defiantly worth the read! rarely does Stephen kings book disappoint.
I guess seeing the movie first always ruins it some. What I missed most was the daughter actually being there. And Kathy Bates voice.
when she whoops that s.o.b. of a husband upside the head and no longer takes his crap.
it is a movie :) and yes I've seen it.
I kinda wish Kathy Bates would of been the one reading me the story. while I liked the narrator and I think she did Delores justice, I still kept seeing Kathy Bates in my head.
addicting! addicting! addicting!
honestly The Shining comes to mind. mainly because the house is alive in both and the way the characters relate and experience the ghosts.
everything! bravo Mr. King! your narration brought the story to life! plus I loved the background music that helped you feel the moment.
I think most will say when madie (not sure if that's how it's spelled in the book) dies. which is very moving, but for me it was when Joe's true intentions where revealed. when he realized every move he made his entire life hasn't really been his own. I felt that.
omg! LOVED! LOVED! LOVED! this book! this will definitely be a re-read! as always Stephen King delivers!
It is such a well written book. The way the author poetically described the emotions of every character I defiantly would recommend this book <3
I loved all of it!
I haven't, this was the first... but I have no doubt this will not be the last!
There were several! I even cried a few times. Truly everything about this story was not only believable but very intense.
love! love! love! this book! definitely a re-read! or listen :)
