    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unlikely partnership. In exchange for help finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner…are there actually good vampires?

Stephenie says: "Great series. Worth every credit."
"Love "Twilight" & was looking for similar books..."

I found it! This series had a similar supernatural/vampire romance backround that I love, but was still different enough that I didn't feel like I was reading the same story. It was exactly what I was looking for. For me, I find that a great book is one that has me stealing time to listen every chance I get, and I was with this book! The main character, Cat, had a great mix of power and faults- her powers being supernatural, and one fault being her uncompromising hatred. Her captor, Bones, was a perfect "bad boy" with a conscience.

On top of all that, the narrator did a great job portraying all of the characters(can't stand listening to an awful narrator- no matter how good a book is). Overall, definately worth buying. The only problem I find is that there are(at this time) 2 more books in this series that aren't available in audio yet!!! I'm purchasing the 2nd today that just became available this week!

    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Alex and Conner Bailey's world is about to change, in this fast-paced adventure that uniquely combines our modern day world with the enchanting realm of classic fairytales. The Land of Stories tells the tale of twins Alex and Conner. Through the mysterious powers of a cherished book of stories, they leave their world behind and find themselves in a foreign land full of wonder and magic where they come face-to-face with the fairy tale characters they grew up reading about.

Naomi says: "Delightful! Entertaining! And beautifully written!"
    "Excellent for young and old!"

Both my 10 year old daughter and I loved this book! You get a great mix of a suspenseful story and bits of comic relief, along with great morals to boot! And all without awful language or sexual content that most YA books can't seem to avoid recently.

And, yes, in sheer desperation she tells him she has amnesia. But then he claims she’s his wife. As Devlin’s own treacherous agenda comes to light, Meadow finds herself locked in a match of high-stakes deception.

Judy says: "Decent Story, BAD Narrator!"
    "Great read!"

Enough suspense to keep me wanting more! It was no masterpiece, but excellent light reading, good story, with a bit of romance.

    "Great book! -Love this series!"

I was pleasantly surprised after reading each of the 9 books in this series, that I couldn't wait for the next book! Except for rare cases like this series, I get bored by the 4th or 5th book in most series since it seems to get more and more difficult to top the last one(or in some cases, the first one). This entire series kept me coming back for more with a great balance of character, suspense, intrigue, comic relief, and just enough romance. I'm impressed! I hope she keeps them coming! I can't wait for the next one!

  • City of Bones: The Mortal Instruments, Book 1

    • UNABRIDGED (14 hrs and 11 mins)
    • By Cassandra Clare
    • Narrated By Ari Graynor
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When 15-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder - much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It's hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing, not even a smear of blood, to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?

Teddy says: "2 Stars because it actually gets worse...."
    "A Wonderful Fantasy!!!"

I wasn't sure about this series. I love twilight and other vampire romance type books and thought this would be too sci-fi for me to get into. I was so very wrong!! I think that the story was so well written, it felt like it could almost be real! Or at least a wonderful fantasy!
I've read all three books now, and I'm so very sad the story's ended. I can only hope there will be more like it written from this author!
