I love books that make me think differently about things I've heard my whole life. like you have to find your passion and then find a job that matches your passion. this book shows how that is not true.
the most important thing you can do is gain career capital. work on skills that make your current job more fulfilling. I like this concept, I have some goals to work on now.
Much better than I thought it would be. A few times I was pretty surprised by the turn of events. A little long but kept me coming back for more.
The story was okay but good grief the language was terrible. I believe there was about one page with over 10 F*** words on it. I am disappointed as I know that Vince Flynn has swearing in his books but there was so much in this one that it was just distracting. I will pick up the next one in the series but if there is as much swearing in the first few chapters as this one then I will have to give up reading Mr. Flynn's books, and that is just too bad because he tells a really good story.
A lot of good advice, some tender moments and some laugh out loud moments. Glad I picked it up.
This is my third time reading this book. The one thing I truly believe is that I love this book because I listened to it first. The audio version is dramatized and has four narrators and they bring the characters alive.
This book for me is about unlikely friendships, the power of one person, and the courage it takes to do something that scares you.
I laugh in this book, I mean laugh out loud. And I cry, every time I read this I cry.
I look forward to my next reading (or should I say listen).
Brandon Sanderson knows how to weave a story and how to develop characters. I loved that his characters where flawed, I love that they learned valuable lesons along the way. And I loved the Mistborn series.
I laughed out loud, I cried, and I shook my fist at the ceiling in frustration. I also yelled out loud for joy.
It has been a long time since I have read a book that has made me that passionate.
I would highly recommend this series. The best part is, I didn't guess the ending. I had no idea how Mr. Sanderson was going to wrap it all up but he did, and he did it well.
I thought I would enjoy this book but I found it some what boring. There were no great moments for me. I finished this book just a few days ago but find myself already forgetting most of the things that were in it.
I was surprised to find myself a little annoyed with his voice by the end of the book.
I was intrigued by the premise of this book, a book written by an imaginary friend. So, I picked it up to give it a shot. In the first couple of chapters I had already shed a few tears, the story was sweet and poignant.
As the story went on I couldn't help but fall in love with little Max and his way of dealing with and seeing the world. Max is a special needs kid, and though they never come out and say it based on how he was described I would say he is Autistic. But Max has this great imaginary friend who is always there for him through thick and thin.
The story was good, great pace, good writing, and good feeling to the whole story line. More tears were shed by me before the book was over but I also found myself jumping off my couch and punching the air in triumph for the characters in the book. This is a book worth listening to.
Warning: The F bomb is dropped about 20 times throughout the whole book, and there are a few times the adults in the book take the Lords name in vain. Just giving those who care about this a heads up. I would have given the book 5 stars had the language not been in it.
Thank you Mr. Flynn for writing another thrilling story. I enjoyed the ride.
By the way nicely done on cutting way back on the bad language. After your last book I was afraid I was going t have to give you up. This book has redeemed you in my eyes.
This book would be rated R for language and PG-13 for subject matter and should get a big D- for character developement. The women were unrealistic in their relationship with one another. The relationships in the book were shallow. Overall disappointed in Mr. Patterson greatly disappointed.
The characters and the idea of the story line.
Not something I expected
I truly wished that the book had lasted longer.
