Yes, it is a compelling story for a lifestyle many can only try to understand. The humanity of people comes through no mater what the lifestyle or religious belief is. In a time when most of people are striving for more, stuff, things and excitement this simple lifestyle mixed with murder and mystery can be complicated to comprehend. The narrator really brings the story to life. The relaxed tone and intonation of the voice made this a great listen,
Simple life is not so simple?
I will continue to read the series. It's nice to read a complex story with out all the muck and foul language. This is a book with a murder mystery but also good values. It's a nice change to all the bang bang shoot em up stories.
I liked the charters and the way they interact with each other. The story was fun and each book kept me interested
Time Travelers Wife
The main character of course
yes but I never have the time for that
I purchased the rest of the series after listening to the first book.
David Baldacci is always a good read in my opinion. The story was engaging and held my interests all the way to the end, There was no guessing the ending as there are many twists and turns through the story.
I read all 3 in this series. Each book builds on the next and the story gets better. It doesn't take long to get through each book. Mixing native american folk lore into a newer timeline story was interesting. I would read more from this author.
Rachel Hauck is a new author to me. I found the story good and interesting. Not knowing the author I was surprised with how much if felt like I was at church while listening.
Looking for a quick easy listen... this is it. I can totally understand how Honey felt, wanting to get back at one of those telemarketers, especially since she felt personally insulted.
Just when I thought I had it figured out, I didn't. That's OK as I love it when the plot has twists and turns, enough that it takes a bit to figure it out. A great read. But be careful you may not be able to put it down until you have read the entire book.
This book was funny most of all. A little predictable at times but that is what made it so good. It is a story filled with warmth and made me think about naming one of my future pets Christmas just because of this story. I liked that is was not sappy but hit all the feel good things one likes in a short listen. I will listen to this again.
There is so much in this story it deserves at least a second listen if not a third or more. The charters are so completely developed. The story so portrays how sometimes we are well meaning but all wrong. So often we forget there may be system in place and just because we don’t understand or see it does not me it does not exist.
I don't know how I could pick a favorite character. There was so much good to find in the children each in their own way. It is hard for me to like the father in this story but without his mistaken judgments there would not have been a story at all.
This book touched me deep inside. While I do not see it as a sad story some may. Over all I felt the message is one of strength in adversity, learning to survive and understand others.
I would certainly recommend this book. It was hard to stop listening but alas I must work. We have all had days and situations when we all wanted to the same thing and tell the world what a rotten person someone else is. What style!!! Is there a company that will do it for others? It could be a real money maker.
Lacey Terwilliger was the favorite character but her attorney is a good second. Lacey is lovable, I feel for her and her situation. She is crazy and sane at the same time.
Amanda Ronconi made the voice really sound like the Character.
Peter Giles brings the book to life. His voice is both energetic and soothing at the same time.
