Sparks does it again with a story you can't put down until you find out what happens. As you read the book you start to care a lot about the people in the story and what happens to them. There is excitement, mystery, and romance (without the trash).
This book takes you into the time between the 1st World War and the 2nd World War and then into the 2nd World War. However, this is not a war book. The book puts you into the life in Florence through the eyes and experiences of an orphan. There is also the mystery of where Rose came from that is slowly reveled through the book. This is a great read and I very much enjoyed it!
It was clear and understandable the portion I listened to.
This book is a book of fantasy. I personally don't like fantasy. I didn't listen to much of the book. If you like fantasy, then you might like this book.
If you love politics, you will love this book. If not, it is very interesting anyway. The book gives insight into the life of one of the main characters that created our country (USA) and some of the other folks also. Especially interesting was the his wife. As ancestors go, I am proud to have them as part of mine.
This book is like eating chocolate cake with raspberry filling. It is pure fun and excitement. It has suspense, drama, and romance.
It is about ordinary people trying to live their lives the best they can. As events beyond their control move around them, they do what they have to do to survive and have a life. The story isn't a mystery or about some super hero with fast action events but you are drawn into the story none the less. As the story progresses, you start to care about the characters. They really don't seem so different than yourself. They are driven by wanting and desiring what we all want and desire in life. What is amazing about the book is you grow to understand the role of sexuality in life by being part of the lives of the characters in the book. The characters are so real, that I still am not sure this was fiction! This is a mind expanding book which goes beyond its entertainment value.
This story centers around a tough, intelligent woman that can't come to grips with her own mistakes. The book is slow at times but engaging. While the story bogs down sometimes, the ending seemed rushed and not flowing from the previous story development. If you like women to be sweet, dependant, and stupid, you won't like this book.
The book is full of excitement with twists and turns. It was very much fun to listen to.
