"Enlightening!"
A very well crafted account of our country's recent decent into torture and the fearmongering politics of the Bush Administration. Although a very long-winded book, the author leaves no detail or accusation unexplained. Mayer clearly did her homework on this subject, as this book should be mandatory reading for every civics class in American schools.
"Overly Sentimental tale doesn't meet expectations"
This novel started out raising my curiosity. The mystery of the past was a good way to begin the story, but the present day story line was so cheesy and lame. It really added nothing to the book, which also had an ending that was HORRIBLE.
The narrator was excellent though, she did a great job with the accents, giving each character their own voice.
"Very compelling and inspiring story"
I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook. The sound quality and the narraitor were excellent. This was an intimate, up close look at a unique canidate and campaign during troubled times. I've read the other reviewers complaints that the author was biased and romanticized RFK's campaign. This may be the case but I can recall a few points when the author makes objective points that aren't flattering for RFK. Bottom line, if you're interested in history, politics, the Kennedys, or RFK you'll love this book. There is a wealth of interesting information and campaign stories that wont disappoint.
