"Incredible"
I have no idea how this guy does it. His storytelling skills are breathtaking. If you want to find yourself in a different place, in a different life, delighted with events to come, events you would not have experienced otherwise, just grab this book and do not even bother to read the summary.
"Brilliant book"
Absolutely breathtaking. It's a great thing Mr. Hosseini is doing for Afghanistan. The book brings the country to the world.
"Brilliant"
A fabulous writer, a fabulous narrator. Enough said! Those characters are so real...
"Great work"
This book could be read even only for the real life examples presented by Mr. MacKay. Well composed, summaries, lots of insight and practical knowledge. I think I will read the book once again to grasp as much as possible from it. Mr. MacKay is indeed a well organized speaker and author. It's a pleasure to learn from him.
"Not too much REAL content"
This book could be easily shortened to about two or three pages of text. However, some readers could find stories/examples described by the author as meaningful and entertaining.
"Difficult to learn from"
It's difficult to find concrete, usable knowledge in this book. While I cannot say the concepts presented by the authors do not appeal to me, the problem lies in the way they are put together. The reader receives a typical list of issues which are important / should be reconsidered in order to achieve a resilient mind, but after that there are merely lots of words of description. No tools. No solutions really. In other words, after reading the book you have this vague idea that something is important, but then... you do not remember what it was.
"Entertaining and inspiring"
A good book on chess. Mostly an outline of history plus plenty of stories. Quite entertaining and inspiring. I did like it indeed.
