Although this wasn’t one of his best books, this was still an enjoyable read. I always enjoy the twists and turns that Sam and Remi run into and this book was no exception. The writing and intrigue just wasn’t quite up to Cussler’s standard. I have read most of Clive Cussler’s books, and so far this is the one I enjoyed the least. I only gave it a three stars because of its lackluster writing and confusing historical information. Will this keep me from reading the rest of Sam and Remi’s adventures … absolutely not. But it didn’t make me want to immediately read the next book in the series.
Sweet read. I always enjoy Sherryl Woods' books and this one was no exception. Their setting in the South makes them delightful and fun. I’m enjoying this series. I will say that I did not care as much for this narrator as the previous ones. Being from the South, I did not enjoy the fake Southern accent.
I absolutely love James Rollins and this book was no exception. Rollins makes the unrealistic realistic and makes us think about what will happen if something like this were to happen in today’s world. With what we know governments have done in the past, it really makes us think about how we would react. Fantastic read and thought provoking.
I really, really, really liked Elizabeth Gilbert’s Eat, Pray, Love and was so looking forward to this book, especially after the reviews that it initially received on multiple sites. And when it started it was pretty good, but after a couple hundred pages or so, I found that the book was like the moss that Alma loved so well. It just grew and grew and grew with nothing much to show for itself. This book would have been much better had it been shortened.
All I can say is WOW. This was the best of all the Clifton Chronicles books so far. The book started off right where the previous one left off, yet could still be enjoyed by someone who had not read the series. I found that I read it every second of the day and often times when I really needed to be doing other things. And the ending left me knowing that there HAS to be more books to come. I love Jeffrey Archer and can’t wait for more work from him. Great job on a much anticipated book!
I really didn’t enjoy this book. I tried to get into it, and I normally enjoy this genre, but this book fell short in every area. The plot was weak, the story just didn’t seem to be well written and the characters fell flat in my estimation. I know a lot of others liked the book, but it just wasn’t for me.
I didn’t feel like Mirage was one of Clive Cussler’s best books. I thought it fell short of his normal outstanding quality; however, it was still an ok read. It had a good plot, but almost everything in the book happened to Juan Cabrillo. Don’t get me wrong, Juan is great, but this was just a little too much going here and there throughout the read. Sure hope his books get better instead of like this one since I normally enjoy them so much.
One of the best books I have ever read and that’s saying a lot! I loved the story of Louie Zamperini and the many things he faced in his life. He was a MAN who was able to face life’s adversities and managed to come out on top. The reader feels Louie Zamperini’s lows such as when he is held prisoner during the war and causes us to cheer his highs, his Olympic days. This is one of those books where you will laugh, cry and when the book is over hate that it’s come to an end. Laura Hillenbrand is a top author who knows how to catch the attention of a variety of readers … from young to old … and enable each of us to love and want more of her books!
Cute Story. I thought this book was a good, quick read. It had a good, but predictable plot, but was one of those reads that left the reader smiling … most of the time. I didn’t care for the ending which was a little dark for me, but overall I enjoyed the book.
Unlike many readers, I liked this last book in the series. I liked the role that Eve played in this book a little more than in Book 2. I thought that Eve did what needed to be done. In addition, it was nice to see that Charles was one of the good. The ending was a bit abrupt, but the best thing, the expected thing, did happen. Good series.
Written as the second book in the Eve trilogy, the book was entertaining and a good read. However, in this book, the main character, Eve, acts like a princess yet still is in a state of rebellion. After all she had been through; Eve should have been tougher and more solid. Although I thought this book was a little weaker than the first book, but it is still entertaining enough that I will read the third book.
