An inexplicable explosion rocks the antiquities collection of a London museum and the race begins to determine how it happened, why it happened, and what it means. Lady Kara Kensington's family paid a high price in money and blood to found the gallery that now lies in ruins. Her search for answers leads Kara and her friend Safia al-Maaz, the gallery's curator, into a world they never dreamed existed.

What an entertaining read. This book was James Rollins through and through. Entertaining, captivating and a roller coaster ride throughout. It was a bit drawn out at times, but that’s Rollins. Overall a really good, entertaining book.

For much of her life, Anne Morrow, the shy daughter of the U.S. ambassador to Mexico, has stood in the shadows of those around her, including her millionaire father and vibrant older sister, who often steals the spotlight. Then Anne, a college senior with hidden literary aspirations, travels to Mexico City to spend Christmas with her family. There she meets Colonel Charles Lindbergh, fresh off his celebrated 1927 solo flight across the Atlantic. Enthralled by Charles’s assurance and fame, Anne is certain the celebrated aviator has scarcely noticed her. But she is wrong.

What a read! I had such mixed emotions reading this book. Most of the time I just wanted shake Anne Lindbergh for not standing up for herself. But then I had to step back and look at the time and society and she did what every good wife did back then ... she kept persevering to make everything seem wonderful to the world in spite of what she was feeling internally. In today's world (in America), her options would be wide open. Anne Lindbergh was a smart woman who had the capacity to love beyond all things. And she did that with a passion. My heart broke with the kidnapping of her child and the fact that she had to grieve privately for her little son. This was my first time reading Melanie Benjamin and I enjoyed the way she told the story. She kept it interesting yet made the reader wonder what was coming next. I can't say I enjoyed the story, but I enjoyed the way the author revealed it and grabbed my attention. Kudos to Ms. Benjamin.

Sam and Remi Fargo return for the thrilling third adventure in the acclaimed new series. In Spartan Gold and Lost Empire, Clive Cussler brought readers into the world of husband-and-wife team Sam and Remi Fargo, whose passion and instinct for treasure-hunting has led to extraordinary discoveries-and perilous journeys. Their next adventure, however, might be their most astonishing yet.

When I buy a book with Clive Cussler’s name on it, I want it to read like he at least reviewed the book, and this one didn’t. You could tell it was written almost 100% by Grant Blackwood. Although it was an entertaining read, it wasn’t up to the normal Sam and Remi standards, and I normally really enjoy reading about their exploits.

At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first 50 years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was a spinster watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny house over their shop in Haarlem. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed....

What an awesome book. This book really made me look at my life and wonder if I could be as strong a person as Corrie was … and this is not a fiction account of a life. It is a real life. Corrie and her entire family faced the absolutely worst that a family could face and they came out winners for His kingdom. This book portrays Corrie and her family as real people, faults and all, and tells how they overcame. It clearly demonstrates and tells of God’s holding us in the very palm of His hand and how He gives us His strength when it’s needed. The author of this book made this Dutch family step out of its pages and step right into our hearts.

Even if you have read this book in the past, it is always worth reading again. That’s one of the biggest compliments I can give a book because I rarely read a book more than once and this one has met that mark. Thanks to the authors for this magnificent read.

Best Kept Secret opens a moment after the end of The Sins of the Father, with the resolution of the trial and the triumphant marriage of Harry Clifton and Elizabeth Barrington, finally uniting their family. Harry, now a best-selling novelist; Emma; their son, Sebastian; and orphaned Jessica make a new life for themselves, but all is not as happy and secure as it could be. Emma's brother, Giles, is engaged to a woman who may be more interested in Barrington's fortune and title than in a long and happy marriage.

OK, I just can’t help it … I thoroughly enjoy Jeffrey Archer. I have read all three books in this series, and they keep me entertained through each minute of series. Yes, some of the reviews indicated this book was a little slower than others, which is true, but with the job the narrators did, that didn’t make any difference to me. I can say that I was disappointed in the ending … just left you hanging and there were parts during the book that could have been better laid out. But all-in-all I think that Mr. Archer writes a book that keeps your attention, is always a good read and keeps you wanting more.

I always look forward to reading Harlan Coben’s books and this one was no exception. The twists and turns throughout his novels make them worthy reading material, but I thought this one wasn’t up to his normal standards. Yes, it grabs the reader’s attention, but it started dragging about halfway through and continued for some time. The beginning and endings were great, but I knew what the ending was going to be before I got there. Sure hope his next book is much better because normally I love his books.

This exciting finale to Lauren Olive's New York Times best-selling Delirium trilogy is a riveting blend of nonstop action and forbidden romance in a dystopian United States. Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has transformed. The nascent rebellion that was underway in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight. After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven.

I have to say this book wasn’t as good as the first two books, but it was still a good read. I wasn’t crazy about the back and forth between Hana and Lena, but it was easy to keep up with and did keep the read interesting. When the book came out I bought it that very day. I was so excited it was finally here, and after reading it I didn’t feel that it quite came up to the standards of the other books. It was interesting, but didn’t knock my socks off. I also felt let down at the end of the book. I expected more from the ending. I do have to say that I thought the narrator did an exemplary job and would definitely listen to her in the future.

Already cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a war scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States.

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.
