I must have missed something. This seemed to leave a few loose ends and felt like the writer was tired of writing. This series just lost steam as it progressed. I'm SO tired of repeated strings of words over and over. Tim Curry does a fantastic job as usual! He saves this narrative. Overall this book was enjoyable and pretty much like all the others. I liked the series but started loosing interest after 9 or 10.
While some of this book is disturbing, overall is is wonderfully written. I would not recommend listening to it while you sleep. It gave me some weird dreams. i do not normally like the zombie genre but this is not bad. It kept me entertained and interested the whole way!
I WANT TO PUNCH HER PARENTS IN THE FACE! I could not finish this book. I was very annoyed at how stupid and apathetic ALL of the adults in this book are. This may be a true story but I have trouble believing anyone can be this idiotic and irresponsible. The narration was OK. It made the story more authentic but her accent changed a lot throughout.
You can't help cheering for Nathan to get away. He's a great character. While the story might be a little predictable, it is still a wonderful read!
Have read and listened to this story several times since I was a teenager. It is well written and performed.
My husband and I both liked this story. It was very entertaining and kept us wondering what would happen next. The technical calculations were boring to me, but my husband thought it added to the story.
I think this is probably a great story but I couldn't STAND the reader. The more I listened, the more irritated I was. It sounds like William Shatner reading an overly dramatic commercial. Stop pausing so much and get on with the sentence! The voices, however are very good. I wasn't able to finish the story, so I can't really rate that. I guess I'll have to get a printed version.
I cannot believe the good reviews on this book! The reviews and the great narration were the only reason I kept pushing through to finish it. The adults are neglectful morons and predators who make me afraid for any boarding school children. The kids are all sex-crazed, drugged-out idiots. This is 23 and half hours of my life I will never get back. I was very mad at the end of this book and sorry I bought it. What a waste of time and energy.
I really enjoyed the first 2 books but this one is awful. Full of trauma, gore, and unhappiness which barely relates to the characters we want to know about. I found myself crying and shuddering often during the story. I felt edgy and unhappy even when I wasn't reading. This is really a rant against war and not much of an effort to wrap up a good trilogy. I HATE the ending. Just stop at the second book.
This writer LOVES to hear herself talk. These characters were so superficial and full of themselves. I wanted to stop listening after the first hour. I kept listening and hoping it would get better but it improved only slightly. The ending was awful. I do not recommend this book at all. The only saving grace was great narration.
This book was very interesting but oh so strange. What I didn't know when I bought it is that is full of sex and extremely graphic violence and gore. I don't think I would have purchased it if I had known. I don't think I will listen again but it was hard to put down. The narrator was very good.
