Meet Darryl Graham, or as his new neighbors call him, The Man in 3B. Darryl's new to the Jamaica, Queens building, but from day one he's made quite an impression on his neighbors. He has made it very clear he greatly values his privacy, but he is the man every woman wants and every man wants to be, so inquiring minds want to know. Unfortunately, in Darryl's world, what you know can hurt you. And when he winds up dead, those inquiring minds become the prime suspects.

    Story

There was enough going on in the story to manage to get through to end but the story was mostly flat and unoriginal. And the erotic portion of the book... limp. Although, the story did over achieve bringing forth the ghetto hood, still a waste of time compared to Carl Weber's other books. The narrators did alright with what they had to work with for story material.

This story hosts Angels that come to the nightside. I believes Angels are alot more powerful than this story portrays them to be. I need not say more?

John Taylor is a paranormal supernatural investigator with powers of his own. He's good at what he does but he has one hang up... He wants to find out who and what his mother is. In the mean time he's snarky and witty and he gets the job done. He is from the nightside where the paranormal and the supernatural live and play deadly.

    Story

This story was tough to follow. I had to start the story over twice. It wasn't till towards the end, that the story picked up and by then, truly, not by much. I kept with it though because I really like the narrator, I have the complete series and I really want to know who John Taylor's mother is and the full extent of their powers, abilities and purpose(s). Besides, that place called nightside is like a garden variety of paranormal soup filled with all types supernatural paranormal stuff.

She keeps this information to herself for years, until gorgeous, self-assured Rhoda Nelson becomes her new friend. Story

This story annoyed me greatly. So much so, that I opted out from finishing the rest of the second half of the story. The title just doesn't fit the story. The narrator seemed to be having trouble switching between characters and yet she failed in the transitions anyway. The book is mostly about a girl that is repeatedly raped by a man that her mom allows to live in their home . The man rapes her from age seven to well over the years to almost adulthood. The mom never learns this is happening . The man is never reported by the girl and the girl's friend that does know, doesn't tell either. Outrageous and horrific! While this may be real enough, I say that By the time a story like this goes on so long filled with repeated rape, injustice, ignorance, fear and complacency; give the story some real- time kick and get a WHOLE LOT MORE GRAPHiC with the details or why else bother.

After listening to Immortal Rules which was an absolutely awesome listen, I had to go back and get this prequel to the story. Dawn of Eden laid a good foundation to the story. If you like stories involving vampires coupled with the intense fight to prevent human extinction and all told by a really good narrator, this audiobook is a gem.
