I would only recommend this for someone who has not actually read the full book. I am sure that they did the best they could but as always with abridged and dramatized versions a lot of what you are looking forward to hearing is not there. It is the best for what it is and is a great way to introduce this story to new audiences.
This book is long and follows some of the characters throughout the majority of their lives. The narration is smooth and each character is very defined in terms of how they sound and it is always clear who is talking. This book is an investment of time which pays off.
I really loved Tom the builder and Jack. I absolutely hated the "villians" (anti-spoiler)
I don't recall a single character who wasn't performed to their best!
There is no way you could listen to this all in one sitting, since it is 40 hours long.
This story took me a about an hour to get into. Once in, it was great. I love the narrator, who also performed on the Dan Brown novels. This book is split into three sections but pay attention, the book builds on previous events.
I really love the boy and all the scenes he is in. I wish i could say more but don't want to spoil things for anyone.
I would have listened to it from start to finish but I wasn't able to. I listen to this while commuting.
Its a good thing that I "read" this on audio book I am not sure I could pronounce everything. I really think there is a good series coming. The story is fractured but it all makes sense in the end. I liked it. It isn't brain surgery, but it is a good book. I will continue to "read" these as the next book is available on audio book.
