By chance and not by choice, Ted Mundy, eternal striver, failed writer, and expatriate son of a British Army officer, used to be a spy. But that was in the good old Cold War days when a cinder-block wall divided Berlin and the enemy was easy to recognize.

Ann says: "Le Carre has a point of view"
    "Great Book...NOT!"
    Overall

I've read 1000s of books, and this rates down there with TERRIBLE! This is the first time I've felt cheated when I bought a book. I've read Le Carre before, and this had to be an amateur stand-in writing this book and using his name!!

In his eagerly awaited fourth novel, New York Times best-selling author Nick Hornby mines the hearts and psyches of four lost souls who connect just when they've reached the end of the line.

Julia's aunt says: "Seems made for audio format"
    "Highly overrated!"
    Overall

I couldn't wait to finish this book, not because it was so good but because it was so BAD! The characters are narcissistic and underdeveloped. They don't develop throughout the story...they just drift through the book. I kept waiting for an epiphany, but none came. Save your money.

    "Fun Read!"

This is a good book. I couldn't put it down. I found myself listening in very strange places...while making supper, grocery shopping, even in the restroom! Do yourself a favor and read it!

    Story

As Clay Carter digs into the background of his client, a young man charged with a random street killing, he suddenly finds himself in the middle of a complex case against one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, looking at the kind of enormous settlement that would totally change his life - that would make him, almost overnight, the legal profession's newest king of torts...

Lisa says: "The King of Torts"
    "Enough already!"
    Overall

I was hoping Grisham was back to his former glory, but alas...it is not to be. J. Clay Carter is a flat, predictable character. This is the last Grisham book I will invest my money in.

Different kind of story for Patterson...and well worth the wait. Keep up the medieval good work!!
