I really liked this book. I think it is the best yet (The Vampire Academy and Bloodlines).
No love triangle.....well done, Ms Mead! For a moment there you got us worried. Great save.
Sydney has come a long way, it feels like the girl whom Rose met skipped two books and now is back!
And Adrian, well , I just don't have the words to express all that he's become. Two words then, just lovely.
I can't wait for the next installment . :)
This is the story of a broken boy who became a loser first (harsh, I know) , and after the apocalyptic experience with the aliens , becomes a superhero and a....philosopher. Ha.
I don't think I will follow the series. This was enough.
The book was Kindle-Audible Whispersinc thing and the narration was excellent. Almost gave it four stars just for that.
Why did I waste a credit on this.....?
Apparently, there's no more well written Regencies out there.
This author thought research was for ....what? Nonfiction?
One star is far too generous...
So, why did I waste my credit on this..? Wait....I didn't !! I got both "Extinction Point" and this one with a $10 coupon . Still, what a waste!
I must be masochistic or like Emily, kind of stupid......
I skipped at least a third of the book (all those painful descriptions of...whatever ).
I must add that the narration was kind of mediocre .
Four short, very well written stories that will let you wanting for more...please, more!
The audiobook version is very well done. Both Christian Rummel and Thérèse Plummer
(as narrators), did an excellent job.
Even though this book had a few holes and contradictions in the story (please don't hate me!) still is better than the first one. Full of action, adventure and.....yes...the romance ( which I don't buy all that much).
Anyway, it leave us with the hope of good or/and better sequels. The book is mostly well written and the characters (main and otherwise) are well drawn and likeable
I read this as an ebook and audiobook, the reading (narration) was also very good (the same as the first one, actually).
The narration was..terrible.
The book was kind of slow at the beginning, I had to skip all those flashbacks that the main protagonist had at the oddest moments.
Otherwise the book was entertaining , with a different kind of zombie. The first person view of the story (in this case), makes you feel like the secondary characters are more like part of the wallpaper, way back in the background.
Also, some parts of the story are kind of unbelievable and naive but at the end you take it as part of being entertained.
I will read the next book, I hear that it is better (or at least, like the second part of this one. :)
I loved this book!
I am not Anne Bishop's biggest fan (I DO like her writing!) but this was a very nice and happy surprise. The book is original and fresh with scary monsters aplenty.
The world setting was very well done and nicely written, even with the cutting and the pain/pleasure involved.
This first installment (I'm guessing this is a series?) has no big romance or cliffhanger (so refreshing) in the end, I can't wait for the next one!
So until then, this is a reread waiting to happen. ;D
What happened ?!
The first half of this book was almost BORING . With all those new characters in play and nobody gives a crap about them (at least, I didn't).
I did not expect (at all) the cartoonish villain , the only thing missing there was the big cat !
And....that ending, so rushed and almost alien to the trilogy...
I expected better
I read the first two or three? books of the series more than a year ago, now I'm trying the whole series (so far) with the audiobooks.
At first I was surprised (not pleasantly ) with the approach that Tavia Gilbert (the narrator) took to Bones voice and personality. I had a totally different idea and mental image about it (him). So it was like reading a whole new book!
Miss Gilbert gave Bones a cockney accent! And believe me, that's not sexy at all...I mean, I now guys to happen to be British and have a cockney accent, and they are good looking (check!) and they have very good taste in their clothing (check!)....and the accent does NOT help at all! At the contrary, it kind of ruins the whole image.
Well all that said and out of the way let me tell you, this new (to me) persona charms you in a whole different way but still, you learn to love this Bones in spite the awful inconsistent and all over the place cockney accent.
Do not mistake me, I think Miss Gilbert job was great anyway. LOL!
Cat was/is a fresh breath of air as heroines go. I do like her.
These books are a guilty pleasure for me.
