Have a renewed interest in books after falling in love with audio books. I am listening to all different genres and exploring different authors.

After many years of developing and harnessing her language-teaching skills with The French Ecole, Alexa has now created an audio treat for people who wish to learn a new language from scratch, without any pressure, in fun, relaxed, and manageable chunks. Highlights of Lesson 1 include: an introduction to the class format and some basic vocabulary; how to say how you are and where you live; talking about the weather; a small quiz; and a French song.

For the price - you can't beat this brief first lesson. The speaker is clear and articulate and explains the words well. The only recommendation I have is to allow a longer pause or space so one can practice the words. Overall, I enjoyed and will look into other lessons.

    Story

Candide and his tutor Pangloss travel the globe trying to follow the philosophy "All is for the best in this, the best of all possible worlds". However, they are stung and let down at every turn, being robbed, tortured, and ridiculed, amongst other trials. On hearing about their often disasterous travels, a listener feels unfortunately less than empathetic, and can't help themselves laughing out loud at this very funny account of the trail our optimistic travellers take.

I read this many years ago for school. Since I knew the basic story line - I was not as engaged as other books I have read. This is probably one I would go back to from time to time. It keeps me grounded -- since at one point in my life, I thought I lived in the "Best of All Possible Worlds."

It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Magical writing - very descriptive. I found it intriguing to consider the life of a young girl growing up in Nazi Germany.

Return once more to a galaxy far, far away with this sublime retelling of George Lucas's epic Star Wars in the style of the immortal Bard of Avon. The saga of a wise (Jedi) knight and an evil (Sith) lord, of a beautiful princess held captive and a young hero coming of age, Star Wars abounds with all the valor and villainy of Shakespeare's greatest plays. 'Tis a tale told by fretful droids, full of faithful Wookiees and fearsome Stormtroopers, signifying...pretty much everything.

Love the idea of this book, and I am a Star Wars fan. However, I don't feel as strongly as others that have reviewed this book. I have seen many five star reviews, and it was well done, but I guess the audible version left me wanting more.

I am torn between 3 and 4 stars - so 3.5. I did like this coming of age story. I always have fun with stories when they reference areas I know. So, since this story talks about growing up in Central Florida, and Winter Park High School - that is a plus. Good story.

I have now read all three prequels. While I wasn't sure in the first two, now I am truly interested and want to read The Returned. I do like that each prequel had a different angle and considered the different reactions and emotions. The concept is definitely thought provoking.

This is another prequel to The Returned. My review is similar to "The First" but this story goes a little deeper. It explores the different reactions that people would have in this type of phenomenon. Still too early to fairly evaluate the book (The Returned.)

Prequel to The Returned. I have seen the French tv version of this story line on AMC. I wanted to read before the US version called "The Resurrection." Since it is a prequel - only had the character development of one couple. It is a little early for a full review.

The explosive conclusion to Veronica Roth's #1 New York Times best-selling Divergent trilogy reveals the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of listeners in Divergent and Insurgent.

Really enjoyed this trilogy. I would recommend to others. Since I listened to this book - I did get a bit confused since it seemed like it continued to switch on who you could trust and who you could not trust. However, I could follow the main concepts, and appreciated the dynamics of the story line.
