Ever since running away at the age of fourteen, Paul-Edward, the son of a white landowner and a black slave, has had one dream: to own land every bit as good as his daddy's. While growing up, Paul-Edward loved, and feared, his father, but he loved the land unconditionally. Then, after a rash act of youthful rebellion, he leaves his family behind and vows to succeed on his own. However, for anyone black coming of age in 1880's Mississippi, this is no simple goal.

Wow! What an eye-opening history of segregated/learning how to co-exist American history. The language was strong by todays standards, but true to life for the time this book represents. I strongly recommend mature teens to listen to this one.

A soaring story that will sweep listeners from the docks of China to the court of Kublai Khan as young Haoyou learns to ride the winds strapped to a great scarlet kite in the traveling circus of the Great Miao.

What do you do when you come home one day and discover that your parents have been kidnapped? Well, if you're a brave young guy named Charlie Ashanti, you go off in search of them. And since you happen to know how to speak Cat, your feline friends (the stray cats of the city and the caged lions on a magnificent, astounding floating circus) rally around you, bringing help, advice, and occasional special deliveries. Little do you know that in this search of yours, the fate of the world is at stake.

This book was good as far as it went...but there was no end to it. That is frustrating to say the least. I prefered Molly Moon which was told from A to Z in one book, and it was agreat listen!

It is the dawn of the 18th century, when girls stay home and sew while men sail the high seas finding adventure, danger, and gold. But two unusually adventurous girls (a rich merchant's daughter, Nancy Kington, and her former plantation slave, Minerva Sharpe) take to the high seas from Jamaica on a ship the crew renames Deliverance.

    "Fun!"

This is a fun listen ... exciting, dangerous situations, adventure, bravery ... all things that make a child's book great. And it has a happy ending!

On a journey to Gold Ridge, the four young mages-in-training, Daja, Sandry, Tris, and Briar, find their special magics overlapping, sometimes in frightening and destructive ways. One burst of this combined magic leads Daja to create an astonishing vine made of living metal.

    "Daja's Book"
    Overall

Excellent series. But do wish they had recorded the first in the series, "Sandry's Book' and would get with the recording of the last in the series, " Briar's Book'.

We have really enjoyed listening to the children's fantastic tales.
