I love Hugh Fraser as a narrator! His matter-of-fact delivery makes this story even more disturbing then if you just read it. And the story! What can I say?
What kind of choices will people make when pushed to a wall?

This is the kind of book that makes you think!

Don't let the fact that this is supposed to be a children's book stop you from listening to this entertaining and well written story. The narrator does a great job of voicing all of the characters in a believable fashion.

Enjoy this classic mystery on its 75th anniversary! The Thin Man introduces Nick and Nora Charles, New York's coolest crime-solving couple. Nick retired from detecting after his wife inherited a tidy sum, but six years later a pretty blonde spies him at a speakeasy and asks for his help finding her father, an eccentric inventor who was once Nick's client. Nick can no more resist the case than a morning cocktail or a good fight, and soon he and Nora are caught in a complicated web of confused identities.

It may be because I watched the movie before listening/reading the book, but I really had a hard time with this story: boring with borderline creepy; and the narrator did nothing to help. I couldn't finish it.

As the inhabitants of Redwall Abbey bask in the glorious Summer of the Late Rose, all is quiet and peaceful. But things are not as they seem. Cluny the Scourge, the evil one-eyed rat warlord, is hell-bent on destroying the abbey's tranquility as he prepares to fight a bloody battle for the ownership of Redwall.

    Story

Classic story of good over evil, but told in such an entertaining fashion that you just have to smile and cheer: REDWALL! Having said that I have to say that the narrator was not up to par, he takes a great story and makes it boring. I prefer the way Brian Jacques narrates.

If you like evil villains, noble warriors, hilarious accents, and lots of food this is the book for you. (but maybe not the narrator?)

    Story

A nice listen. It doesn't need a lot of thought to enjoy the story, in fact the less you think about it the better you like it. Funny in places and the characters were, for the most part engaging. There was just enough mystery to make it interesting.
Perfect for listening to when you are doing something monotonous like laundry, cleaning or cooking.

  • Dracula [Audible Edition]

The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

    Story

This is one of my favorite books. And this is the best audio recording I've ever come across. The many and varied emotions the characters feel come alive as you listen.
If you've never read Dracula, be warned; in this story the vampire really is evil! (no such thing as redeeming qualities here)
The writing can be melodramatic and florid at times but I don't mind because I came to love the characters, to identify with them, and take their quest as my own.
The way Bram Stoker tells the story, using diaries and letters, gives you the sense that this could be real. While the multiple narrators gives substance and life to the individual voices. Again I say: Awesome!
