Five thousand years out of the Labyrinth, the Minotaur finds himself in the American South, living in a trailer park and working as a line cook at a steakhouse. No longer a devourer of human flesh, the Minotaur is a socially inept, lonely creature with very human needs. But over a two-week period, as his life dissolves into chaos, this broken and alienated immortal awakens to the possibility for happiness and to the capacity for love.

Expected more from this story. I enjoy Neil Gaiman's books and was expecting a little more of the quirky humor and imagination related to the minatours existence. Basicall he's a shy line cook with a speech impedimant and the story goes through 2 weeks of his life and him dealing with being awkward in relationships.

Once again, David Sedaris brings together a collection of essays so uproariously funny and profoundly moving that his legions of fans will fall for him all over again. He tests the limits of love when Hugh lances a boil from his backside, and pushes the boundaries of laziness when, finding the water shut off in his house in Normandy, he looks to the water in a vase of fresh cut flowers to fill the coffee machine.

I was hoping for a Calvin Trillin type of listen, dry humor and observations. This was not it, came off to me in the beginning as a tired diatribe of someone talking/whining about their life to an uninterested person whom was just being polite while they continued, wishing they could be engulfed in flames to escape the one sided conversation. I could not finish.

The dead rose, and the living quickly realized that Hollywood-style tactics were the quickest way to find yourself one of the walking dead. Kasey, a strong-willed loner from West Virginia, and Ben, a college student from Pennsylvania, have shared an unlikely friendship over the years. And their bond is stretched to its limits when society collapses under a tide of zombies. But Kasey has something she likes to call The Zombie Plan.

    Story

I am a big fan of the zombie/apocalypse themed stories. This one, while I was able to finish it, just did not have the vibe to it. It lacked detail, basically a bunch of young stereotypes hanging out at a ranch having high school drama with the occasional zombies showing up.

For centuries, the legend of Robin Hood and his band of thieves has captivated the imagination. Now the familiar tale takes on new life, fresh meaning, and an unexpected setting. Hunted like an animal by Norman invaders, Bran ap Brychan, heir to the throne of Elfael, has abandoned his father's kingdom and fled to the greenwood. There, in the primeval forest of the Welsh borders, danger surrounds him, for this woodland is a living, breathing entity with mysterious powers and secrets.

I was not sure what to expect.I did not care for the narrator, almost made me stop listening in the beginning until the story picked up. The narrator read characters well and intoned, he just had a very classical high pitched haughty accent that I found annoying and will avoid in the future. The story itself was an interesting shift to the traditional Robin Hood stories I have heard in the past. Traditional characters were woven the story creatively providing some "aha" moments when their names are revealed. While I did enjoy the story I am not sure I will go on to the next one if it is the same narrator.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Read gray man and was looking forward to a sequel. Seems a general formula to go through long list of technical equipmnt preparations only to lose all his equipment as soon as the action starts. A little sterotyping and over macho un realistic with some characters, and again with the unrealistic escapes, reminds me of the old movies where the good guys six gun had way more than six bullets in it. Still a good fun listen, not sure if i will go in for the third one in the series or not without a long break in between.
