Through an intriguing story of parents struggling with their troubled children and with their own personal problems, The Anatomy of Peace shows how to get past the preconceived ideas and self-justifying reactions that keep us from seeing the world clearly and dealing with it effectively.

Colleen says: "Everyone Should Read This Book"
    "Slooooooow!!!"
    Overall

Extremely slow. I tried to give the author and narrator a chance by trying to listen till the end!! The boxes the author talks about are impossible to visualise unless one is there looking at what he has drawn on his board! The narrator also adds to the frustration with his Arab accent imitation of Yousuf. Someone needs to tell him the accent is Hindi and not Arab!!!

    "Awful"
    Overall

This is an awful novel! If it wasn't for the brilliant narration of Mark Bramhall I would have stopped listening to the book after the first hour!!! I waited, and waited, for an exciting middle to ending but was highly disappointed in both!

In this stunning new book, Malcolm Gladwell takes us on an intellectual journey through the world of "outliers"--the best and the brightest, the most famous and the most successful. He asks the question: what makes high-achievers different? His answer is that we pay too much attention to what successful people are like, and too little attention to where they are from: that is, their culture, their family, their generation, and the idiosyncratic experiences of their upbringing.

S Prabhu says: "Excellent book; well adapted for the audio format"
    "Brilliant!"

A wonderful book that opens one's eyes to so much! Gladwell rocks!

Psychiatrist Andrew Marlowe has a perfectly ordered life--solitary, perhaps, but full of devotion to his profession and the painting hobby he loves. This order is destroyed when renowned painter Robert Oliver attacks a canvas in the National Gallery of Art and becomes his patient. In response, Marlowe finds himself going beyond his own legal and ethical boundaries to understand the secret that torments this genius, a journey that will lead him into the lives of the women closest to Robert Oliver.

    "Gripping then let down"
    Overall

This book was gripping from the beginning. The author is definitley very skilled. The narrative very good and the descriptive sense very high. A crescendo then a terible weak ending. One expected so much more! The grand finale was very deceiving.

Is IQ destiny? Not nearly as much as we think. This fascinating and persuasive program argues that our view of human intelligence is far too narrow, ignoring a crucial range of abilities - emotional intelligence - that matter immensely in terms of how we do in life.

A great book which makes us identify and understand the hidden human talents we all posess. It is easy listening and difficult to turn off!!

A very well written book. Dr. Holford does a great job explaining his theory. His narrative and voice are both precise and soothing to the ear. I have taken his recommended supplements and they have made a world of a difference. Well done Patrick Holford!
