In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

Mica says: "Hurt version decidedly superior"
"Scott Brick is not right for this book."

All the style of William Shatner's acting. I just can't get into it, so distracting..

because I am a big Weber fan. I haven't made more than an hour dent in it. There are so many characters and connections that I'm going to have to try to read this and make notes. The reader is flat and everything runs together.

From Ancient Rome to the British Empire, Phillips demonstrates that every world-dominating power has been brought down by a related set of causes: a lethal combination of global over-reach, militant religion, resource problems, and ballooning debt. It is this same axis of ills that has come to define America's political and economic identity in the past decade.

"Horrid...drivel" Just wish I'd read that review. Slanted, out of date and selective in it's "facts".
