"My name is different every month: Brandy, Honey, Amy. Sometimes Joe doesn't even bother to ask, but he never fails to arouse me with his body, his mouth, his touch, no matter what I'm called or where he picks me up. The sex is always amazing....My real name is Sadie, and once a month, over lunch, Joe tells me about his latest conquest. But what Joe doesn't know is that, in my mind, I'm the star of every one-night stand he has revealed to me, or that I'm practically obsessed with our imaginary sex life."

personally I am a great fan of Megan Hart, and this book is another home run for her. She takes you so deeply into the life of each of the characters you feel like your watching a movie not just listening to an audio book. I highly recommend this book, it has it all drama, love, hate, and passion. It'll leave you wanting more.

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Where does Dark Places rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Top 10

What did you like best about this story?

The shifting between the past and present.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

oh... they bring that movie experience and a sense of being there in the middle of it all.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, but I did find myself taking to some of the characters at times. "don't do it, don't do it! you did it.."

    Any additional comments?

It's a great book and you won't regret using your credit/buying the book, but read the description first, and like every other comment has said up till now, It IS a dark book there and there is a lot of disturbing passages as well as plenty of blood. So if your looking for a book with a happy ending this might not be it. Enjoy.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

    Story
Would you listen to Gone Girl again? Why?

Great book, definitely one of the greats. The story has plenty twists and turns and although you see some of them coming it still manages to keep you in the air. But what really takes this audio book to the next level is the narration, both Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne manage to take in a journey for the ages keeping you guessing and hoping for more.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

It did, the book creates this level of comfort for the listener and as you the listener have chosen a side it completely turns the worlds upside down.

Have you listened to any of Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, this is my first time listening to both these narrators, but they were both superb.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

As the book first starts it seem to me a bit dull, but about a quarter in I just couldn't stop.
