Comeback America is a crucial manifesto, a way for President Obama to end out-of-control government spending and reform our tax, retirement, health care, defense, and other systems - before it's too late.

Unless you think you are going to live forever, this book puts our current financial situation in a clear perspective. Every current politician and member of the Joint Chief of Staff should be required to read this book (assuming they are smart enough to read). David Walker gives us an option on how we can fix this mess before we bury ourselves so deep in the hole and we all have to learn to speak Chinese.

Foreskin's Lament reveals Auslander's youth in a strict, socially isolated Orthodox community, and recounts his rebellion and efforts to make a new life apart from it. Auslander remembers his youthful attempt to win the "blessing bee" (the Orthodox version of a spelling bee), his exile to an Orthodox-style reform school in Israel after he's caught shoplifting Union Bay jeans from the mall, and his 14-mile hike to watch the New York Rangers play in Madison Square Garden without violating the Sabbath.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Shalom tells his own story with a lot of tongue in cheek humor.

Have you listened to any of Shalom Auslander’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No.

Ken Follett's World Without End was a global phenomenon, a work of grand historical sweep beloved by millions of readers and acclaimed by critics. Fall of Giants is his magnificent new historical epic. The first novel in The Century Trilogy, it follows the fates of five interrelated families - American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh - as they move through the world-shaking dramas of the First World War, the Russian Revolution, and the struggle for women's suffrage.

Louis says: "Loved it and learned alot."
"Great way to learn some history"
    Overall

    Story

Like Follett's previous books, this one generates great character development and personalities for fictional people who probably really did act and behave the way written in the book. It's easy to see why history evolved the way it did and how Hitler came to power from the ashes and apparent stupidity of WWI.

John Lee, the reader, is fantastic and complete joy to listen to !

It was a time when anything seemed possible, instant wealth, glittering fame, fabulous luxury, and for a run of magical weeks in the spring and summer of 1920, Charles Ponzi made it all come true. Promising to double investors' money in three months, the dapper, charming Ponzi raised the "rob Peter to pay Paul" scam to an art form and raked in millions at his office in downtown Boston.

What a fun book to listen to! It's hard to believe that people in the 20's were that gullible. But, given all the TARP money that Washington has handed out, maybe we haven't changed that much. I actually liked Charles Ponzi at the end of the book....

In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

This is the book the CIA does not want you to read. For the last 60 years, the CIA has maintained a formidable reputation in spite of its terrible record, never disclosing its blunders to the American public. It spun its own truth to the nation while reality lay buried in classified archives. Now, Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter Tim Weiner offers a stunning indictment of the CIA, a deeply flawed organization that has never deserved America's confidence.

This book tells us just how lucky this country has been over the past 60+years with a so-called spy agency that couldn't walk and chew gum at the same time. It's even more scary to think that our so-called leaders in Washington have been using the CIA for their own political agenda and totally deceiving the American public. Are you surprised? Have they found the WMD's yet? Read the book and find out why they never will.

When he meets with Devin to pass on his case notes and samples, the two are attacked.

Obviously not a "traditional" Ludlum book that you might expect. Most of the plot line was predicable and almost felt like you were reading a movie script......maybe, that was why it was written.
