Yes, hearing Mr. Sedaris read his stories is an important part of what makes his stories so wonderful. I usually don't like books read by the author, but when it comes to Mr. Sedaris I always go for the audio version.
I find his stories to be a wonderful mix of humor, tragedy, and truthfulness.
Yes, I have listened to them all. This one is just as good as the rest. I tend to like the more personal stories that involve his family and childhood, and this book has just that.
This was my first Sparks book, and I think it will be my last. The whole book was ruined by the ending. I don't want to give anything away here. But really? Really Mr. Sparks? It was a fluffy romance novel with no real depth to the characters.
I found this book to be quite enjoyable. I had to paint my kitchen and found that I wanted to keep working late into the night just to finish. I won't say that this is the best book ever, but if you want to be entertained and get lost in a story this is a good choice. There were a few parts that seemed a bit cheesy and the author created a few situations that seemed a bit too convenient, but if you can set those aside you will enjoy.
Yes, I have loved Karen Whites other books. I guess they can' all be winners
I loved Falling Home and part of the reason was the narration by Lyssa Browne. I was expecting the sequel to be read by her or at the very least someone as good as her. I was very unmoved and disappointed by Meredith Orlow. Her accent was unbelievable, and she sounded way too young for the main character.
I would recommend Falling Home, but skip the sequel. I found the story line to be uninteresting, unmoving and just plain boring. If you like cheesy romance novels maybe this is for you, if not don't bother.
This is worth your time and money. Both the story and the readers were fantastic.
