"Berry Good Read"
Without Scott Brick it would've only got 3 stars. The story line itself, the search for the lost library of Alexandria is worthy of writing about. The part about the Old Testament is kind of "out there", but the characters were well thought out and interesting. The action was mostly fast paced. I got lost a few times, but I always caught up. Not one I would choose to re-listen to, but was worth one listen, if only for Brick's performance alone.
"Great Story, better ending!"
I've listened to this book twice, which I don't do that often. This was a great read. The characters were well defined and you either love or hate them, not too much apathy on these people. You can tell that the author is a definite Count of Monte Cristo fan. But who isn't? Great book, interesting ending.
"Worth 2 Credits, but only costs 1"
Much better than either the foriegn or English movie could ever be. The characters truly come to life. Awesome spin on the whole vampire thing. I've been a horror/suspense reader since the mid 70s and this one moves to the top of the list. Just can't describe too many of the great attributes of the book without being a spoiler for those who have yet to experience this great book. If you like this genre, JUST GET IT!!!
"Disapointed"
The first book was much more thought out than this one. The characters just seemed weaker all around. Some parts were very good, others will put you to sleep.
"The Return of the KING, Stephen that is."
Wow, this was SK's best book in a very long time. Yes, there was a little of King's liberalism bleeding through (I am a true 100% conservative veteran), but if one gets past that this is a perfect book all the way through. Though not a new concept, there are a lot of new twists to the whole time travel thing. If you have ever been a King fan, this is a "must read" that I will re-read several more times in the future.
"A wonderful discovery"
The narration of this book is excellent. An abundance of accents and colorful characters. This is more than worth the credit, I can't wait for the sequel, which is a must, otherwise the ending would just be stupid (as it is a cliff-hanger). An intelligent storyline, not just "fluff" for a love story, as many in this genre seem to be.
"Much better than expected"
I love Ron Pearlman's narration. He was perfect for this book. The storyline was great, you believe that it really could have happened. Well worth the credit or the price, especially when you catch it on sale as I did.
"Awesome characters"
This book had it all, you really got to know the heroes with all their baggage. Well developed story line and outstanding narration. I could have done without the sound effects. This is one that you hate to see end, however it is a really good ending.
"Amazingly original."
This was a very well written and wonderfully narrated story with some very unique characters (some of which you don't don't know if you should love or hate). One of Howard's best and Ms. Ross does an amazing job with these Louisiana people of various backgrounds.
"Hate to say it Hurt is better"
I love this book & I love Scott Brick, for some reason they just don't go well together. I have both in my Library along with 700+ other books, Hurt just seems to get the characters better. But if you are thinking of buying it on this $9.95 sale, then it is definitely worth the money.
"Up close view of Reagan."
A well written story of the Reagan's political career from the viewpoint of a close freind and aide to the gipper. One of the better jobs of a writer doing his own narration. If you want to hear the inside story of Reagan through the 60's, 70's & 80's. If you respected Reagan before you read it, then he'll be your hero afterwards.
