Lady Alexia Maccon, soulless, is at it again, only this time the trouble is not her fault. When a mad ghost threatens the queen, Alexia is on the case, following a trail that leads her deep into her husband's past. Top that off with a sister who has joined the suffragette movement (shocking!), Madame Lefoux's latest mechanical invention, and a plague of zombie porcupines and Alexia barely has time to remember she happens to be eight months pregnant. Can Alexia determine who is trying to kill Queen Victoria?

Where does Heartless rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Heartless & the rest of the Parasol Protectorate are very high up on my audiobook list. My other favourite series are The Hollows, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Sookie Stackhouse and The Dresden Files, so it's in good company. But I'd say it's number one or two on the list.

Who was your favorite character and why?

My favourite character was Lord Akeldama. His nicknames and lighthearted frivolity are entertaining, but he's not a 2-dimensional character. The emotional depth that slips out; his pain in letting go of someone he loves is deeply palatable and moving, no matter how hard he tries to hide it.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Anything involving Biffy naked holding Alexia's hand. The awkwardness and comedy is coupled with some really moving character development. Plus, Alexia's waddling never gets old.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed a lot. I didn't cry (I cried during Changeless and Timeless).
