The audio quality was very bad. I would not recommend this to anyone. I had a very unhappy todler on my hands as it wasn't 'Audible' at all.

This is Part One of Book 1 of the A Song of Ice and Fire Series. This first volume in the hugely popular and highly acclaimed epic fantasy series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE is unabridged and split into two parts. Now a major Sky Atlantic TV series from HBO, starring Sean Bean. Summers span decades. Winter can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun.

What made the experience of listening to A Game of Thrones (Part One) the most enjoyable?

Apart from a very good narator, the story in the first book doesn't take too long to start building some momentum. Characters are well rounded and very detailed. Scenery is also very well painted and easily takes you on a journey to a fantasy world.

Who was your favorite character and why?

John Snow is hard to place in the future of this series, but being the outcast, he immediately gets your attention as someone who will play a main role in the future books.

What about Roy Dotrice’s performance did you like?

The performance by the narator is excellent. If Spielberg had to cast someone himself, I don't think he could have chosen someone more apt. Just listening to Roy's first few sentences immediately sketches the scenery and characters supberbly.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Win or die in the game of thrones.
