  • The Secret Law of Attraction as Explained by Napoleon Hill

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 7 mins)
    • By Napoleon Hill
    • Narrated By Macmillan Audio

The Law of Attraction and other Laws of Success that stem from it are all part of the grand secret that Andrew Carnegie imparted to Napoleon Hill at their famous meeting. It is that secret which runs through Hill's masterwork, The Law of Success, and it is literally the subject of the first sentence in his classic bestseller, Think and Grow Rich - which promises that the Carnegie secret will appear in every chapter of the work.

Robert says: "Wary of Title but admired - Think & Grow Rich"
    "Reality check"

the "secret" has brought a lot of books on mind power subject but I found it unconvincing and misleading. This book puts these concepts in perspective and offer practical guidance and plausible interpretation of the law of attraction.

  • The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 27 mins)
    • By Michael Lewis
    • Narrated By Jesse Boggs

Who understood the risk inherent in the assumption of ever-rising real-estate prices, a risk compounded daily by the creation of those arcane, artificial securities loosely based on piles of doubtful mortgages? Michael Lewis turns the inquiry on its head to create a fresh, character-driven narrative brimming with indignation and dark humor, a fitting sequel to his number-one best-selling Liar’s Poker.

Jill Pagano says: "Finally, I understand what happened!"

finally some understanding of what happened and how people profited. Nicely written without too much unexplained financial jargon

  • The Kite Runner

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Khaled Hosseini
    • Narrated By Khaled Hosseini

Why we think it’s a great listen: Never before has an author’s narration of his fiction been so important to fully grasping the book’s impact and global implications. Taking us from Afghanistan in the final days of its monarchy to the present, The Kite Runner is the unforgettable story of the friendship between two boys growing up in Kabul. Their intertwined lives, and their fates, reflect the eventual tragedy of the world around them.

    Joseph says: "A storyteller's story"
    "compelling read"

touching story and flow very nicely. you see the word from the authors point of view and feel what he went through

  • Dead or Alive

    • UNABRIDGED (20 hrs and 39 mins)
    • By Tom Clancy, Grant Blackwood
    • Narrated By Lou Diamond Phillips
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Jack Ryan, the former president of the United States, is out of office, but not out of the loop about his brainchild, the “Campus” - a highly effective, counter-terrorism organization that operates outside the Washington hierarchy. But what Ryan doesn’t know is that his son, Jack Ryan, Jr., has joined his cousins, Brian and Dominic Caruso, at the shadowy Campus. While a highly effective analyst, young Ryan hungers for the action of a field agent.

    Jean says: "Dead Or Alive"
    "Nice, but......."

I am a Tom Clancy fan and have read all his books. I found this one was not up to same standards as his previous books. Still a good listen.

  • Debt of Honor

    • ABRIDGED (6 hrs and 6 mins)
    • By Tom Clancy
    • Narrated By John Rubinstein

The end of history. The new world order. Fine phrases, but as Jack Ryan is about to discover, history isn't dead yet - and only the nature of the threat is new. In peacetime, a new enemy readies a strike not only at America's territory, but at the heart of her economy, and National Security Advisor Jack Ryan must prepare an untested president to meet the challenge.

    Kevin says: "Don't buy abridged"
    "too abridged"

I had read the paper version years ago and this had become my favourite Tom Clancy book. I had also enjoyed the details about the economic warefare on the US currency and share market. The abridged version is not the same. I wish hadn't overlooked the fact that I was buying an abridged version.
