"Almost a five"
The book is fun, the narration awesome, but the thing keeping this from being a five star book is the fact that the audiobook skips. Fortunately, it just skips back a few seconds, so you don't lose anything. But it still breaks up the story every time it happens.
"Perfect reader"
The reader--Rob Inglis--is *the* voice of the Lord of the Rings for me. It's just perfect for this type of fantasy. I loved his reading of "The Wizard of Earthsea" and he does another fantastic job with Tolkien's work.
"For fans of Kate Daniels"
This new offshoot is well worth it for fans of the Kate Daniels books. The reader continues to do a wonderful job voicing the characters and it was great fun to get more insight into the characters of Kate's world.
However, I wouldn't recommend this book for those who haven't read anything else in the series. You simply won't have as much fun as those readers who have been reading/listening to the series up till now. Go back to "Magic Bites", work your way up to "Magic Bleeds" and then read/listen to this book.
"Perfect voice"
Rob Inglis has the perfect voice for this book. He gives the story weight, gravity and power. I can't imagine anyone else reading it!
