Story was a bit slow to start while back story was set up, but once it started to pick up speed it really took off. As a geeky nerd I did need a lot of the references but it was still fun to be reminded of them. Didn't like Wheaton much as an actor but as a narrator he did good job.
Yes for the authors.
No for the narrator.
Maybe the book but not this version. The story seems solid but Cresswell bombs the telling to the point that 2 hr in I had to stop.
Cresswell fells like he's just reading aloud rather than tell a story. There's no inflection, it's hard to tell who's talking which makes it hard to follow the story. to top it off you can hear his lips smacking in the backgrounds which is highly annoying.
Book looked ok going to get the paper/digital version
If it's ever recast I'd it again but nothing else from this narrator will enter my library.
Story was ok as far as it went, a few more explanation be nice. I can see if they want to save something for another book but hate it when there many unanswered questions and this book had whole mountain range of them. Without more input I couldn't really get more then a general feel for the for the story world.
No, maybe it this becomes a series and the story world gets a bit deeper but as it stands I can't recommend it.
Maybe not in a theater possibility on DVD release
The plot is kind of ruined by the publisher's summary, the first 8hrs is summed up in the summary so even though you don't know exactly how it happens you know how it ends up.
This whole book just seems to be setup, over all it's slow lacks explanation with almost no plot development. The most of the characters don't act real at all, an example: in a tight knit community a woman was tied up, raped, beaten, and disfigured. the whole knows who did it but because the guy left the village before any one knew no one did anything but get mad. That's one of the bigger thing but things like this are littered over the book. One of the more annoying thing is the made up words use for days weeks ect makes it hard to keep a clear track of time. Could be better, could be worse my grab next one to see if it's gotten better.
Over all it was an ok lesion with the exception being Nyx is one of the most annoying characters I've seen in a while. For the most part he was decent except he makes some out ragingly bad decisions especially for being how old he's suppose to be. I don't wont to give out any thing but Nyx would have been a whole lot more believable if some one who's over 200 would have a shred of common sense. I might pick up next book in hopes things get better.
Story was ok, lacked depth and imagination. Narration was horrible, not the narrater it self but the quality. At times there was an echo other time the constant back ground noise was maddening, squeaky chair, dog barks ect.
I liked maybe three of the stories and one of the female narrators other then that I found this to be rather disappointing and I really wanted to like this one. Most of the narration felt like someone giving an emotionless report rather then a story teller. As for the stories themselves, I found them dull and pointless and not even the fun kind of pointless. There were a few of stories that were entertaining but over all not it was a let down.
Bland and boring all I can say is there's not one character in this story that I cared about, I'm saying if the story had ended with every one dieing the only thought I'd have is "well they probably deserved it". Story moved so slow at one point I fell asleep while listen and missed bout a two hours but in that time it seems nothing happened seems the story just wait of me to wake up, but I'm not rewinding it to find out. The narrators and the price were the only saving graces here. Oh and i found the music between book parts very annoying.
As much as I like Tufo books I hate above all else this kind of story. Let me start by saying I loved the story right up till the end, that whole none of if really happened is what I really hate. I hate it in TV shows but at lest there only 30-60mins but to go 9+hr in and to have Tufo pull this just makes me feel he reached a point and just quit.
At times it was a bit hard follow, really wish author use day/year over the orbit/cycle that was the most annoying thing to me and hard to keep straight. Other then that it was the typical fantasy only with dwarf hero rather then drunk comic relief.
