Half-vampire Catherine Crawfield is going after the undead with a vengeance, hoping that one of these deadbeats is her father—the one responsible for ruining her mother's life. Then she's captured by Bones, a vampire bounty hunter, and is forced into an unlikely partnership. In exchange for help finding her father, Cat agrees to train with the sexy night stalker until her battle reflexes are as sharp as his fangs. She's amazed she doesn't end up as his dinner…are there actually good vampires?

I only made it about 2hr in to the book cause the narrator was just too painful to listen to. It's hard to narrate a book when you only have one real to work with putting in bad accents and such to mix it up. The story seemed ok as far as I got but it wasn't worth the assault on my ears to go any further.

Dragon Soul begins in a small village of the Palmir people. A quiet, productive, and peaceful clan with an almost forgotten violent history. The Plague from the North - an attack of powerful, evil creatures - virtually annihilated them generations ago. They defeated the Plague, with the help of mystics and dragons - but at great cost. A Prophet has a vision that takes shape in a physical form and warns the Palmir people of an ominous event. Was it a just a reminder of the hellish past, or a harbinger of things to come?

This whole book just seems to be setup, over all it's slow lacks explanation with almost no plot development. The most of the characters don't act real at all, an example: in a tight knit community a woman was tied up, raped, beaten, and disfigured. the whole knows who did it but because the guy left the village before any one knew no one did anything but get mad. That's one of the bigger thing but things like this are littered over the book. One of the more annoying thing is the made up words use for days weeks ect makes it hard to keep a clear track of time. Could be better, could be worse my grab next one to see if it's gotten better.

Brooding, leather jacket-wearing Nyx Fortuna looks like a 20-something, and has for centuries now. As the son of the forgotten fourth Fate, Lady Fortuna, he has been hunted his entire life by the three Sisters of Fate that murdered his mother. Fed up and out for revenge, Nyx comes to Minneapolis following a tip that his aunts have set up a business there. His goal to bring down his mother's killers and retrieve the thread of fate that has trapped him in the body of a twenty year old unable to age or die.

Over all it was an ok lesion with the exception being Nyx is one of the most annoying characters I've seen in a while. For the most part he was decent except he makes some out ragingly bad decisions especially for being how old he's suppose to be. I don't wont to give out any thing but Nyx would have been a whole lot more believable if some one who's over 200 would have a shred of common sense. I might pick up next book in hopes things get better.

Driven by grief and insomnia, Charles Matheson struggles with his day-to-day life, until one day he discovers a portal that takes him to another world, a world almost like our own. In this world he is pursued by a government agent who has a history with Matheson - a history both men have long forgotten. Matheson has also forgotten that he has an incredible power: the ability to move through space and time with just a thought.

Story was ok, lacked depth and imagination. Narration was horrible, not the narrater it self but the quality. At times there was an echo other time the constant back ground noise was maddening, squeaky chair, dog barks ect.

  • The Mad Scientist's Guide to World Domination: Original Short Fiction for the Modern Evil Genius

Mad scientists have never had it so tough. In super-hero comics, graphic novels, films, TV series, video games, and even works of what may be fiction, they are besieged by those who stand against them, devoid of sympathy for their irrational, megalomaniacal impulses to rule, destroy, or otherwise dominate the world as we know it. It’s just not fair. So those of us who are so twisted and sick that we love mad scientists have created this guide.

I liked maybe three of the stories and one of the female narrators other then that I found this to be rather disappointing and I really wanted to like this one. Most of the narration felt like someone giving an emotionless report rather then a story teller. As for the stories themselves, I found them dull and pointless and not even the fun kind of pointless. There were a few of stories that were entertaining but over all not it was a let down.

When a mythical dagger is plunged into his chest, Yoto is transformed from a meek member of an enslaved society into a beast fit for the gods. Will he use his power to free his people...or annihilate them? Some say the Arbitrators existed long before the world was born. Others believe their dark powers spun the fabric of time itself. They are mystery. But here is truth: After ages of formless existence, the Arbitrators craved physicality once more. In their search for a worthy body to inhabit, they destroyed the world Ajyin.

Bland and boring all I can say is there's not one character in this story that I cared about, I'm saying if the story had ended with every one dieing the only thought I'd have is "well they probably deserved it". Story moved so slow at one point I fell asleep while listen and missed bout a two hours but in that time it seems nothing happened seems the story just wait of me to wake up, but I'm not rewinding it to find out. The narrators and the price were the only saving graces here. Oh and i found the music between book parts very annoying.

As much as I like Tufo books I hate above all else this kind of story. Let me start by saying I loved the story right up till the end, that whole none of if really happened is what I really hate. I hate it in TV shows but at lest there only 30-60mins but to go 9+hr in and to have Tufo pull this just makes me feel he reached a point and just quit.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

Story was a bit slow to start while back story was set up, but once it started to pick up speed it really took off. As a geeky nerd I did need a lot of the references but it was still fun to be reminded of them. Didn't like Wheaton much as an actor but as a narrator he did good job.

Looked interesting so I picked this one up and wow and not in a good way. Most of this book felt like reading a psychological report paired with a narrator that sounds like he’s giving a lecture didn’t hold the imagination. Normally I get in to the characters in story but as for Clay I never felt more annoyed, as some one with a disorder I never felt more like yelling “grow a set” while listening. He’s nothing but a whiney self destructive self absorbed crybaby, and if he’s the pillar of strength of his group of friends no wonder there all messed up. This book had a few points it could have really taken off but author seemed determined to earthbound with a little hop at the very end.
