I have to give myself 1 star for selecting a book focusing on adolescent issues. The narration was great, and the authors successfully crafted a story full of teenage dark drama; relevant to a (sadly) much younger reader then me.

I’ve read way too many books in this genre that turned out to be more romance than murder mysteries. “Cut & Run” and the sequel “Sticks & Stones” deliver on both fronts. The story is incredibly well written and very difficult to put down. There are a few (VERY) steamy sections, but most the plot centers on Zane & Tye learning to trust each other and work as FBI partners. The fact that they try so hard to deny the attraction they're feeling towards each other is amusing (and sadly touching). The big bad detective bantering between characters had me laughing and those rare moments of honest caring almost brought me to tears. The authors do a pretty good job of tying up loose ends but “Sticks & Stones” ends with just a few things left unsaid. These are the stories worthy of a hard copy for another read later.

I couldn't get into this audio book. The plot seemed like just a rehash of a story that's been told over and over again. Not horrible, but definitely not engaging enough to make me continue on with the series. I have to admit a bias against the narrator. I agree with comments made by another reviewer; the transitions between characters were difficult to follow and lacked emotional context.

I've enjoyed all of Christopher Moore's work and I can't imagine anyone but Susan Bennett narating this story. This is a great follow-up to the 2 previous books.

I still enjoy the story line but grow tired of Racheal's constant whining.
