From the best-selling author of Kafka on the Shore comes this rich and revelatory memoir about writing and running and the integral impact both have made on his life. Equal parts training log, travelogue, and reminiscence, this revealing memoir covers Murakami's four-month preparation for the 2005 New York City Marathon. Settings range from Tokyo, where he once shared the course with an Olympian, to the Charles River in Boston, among young women who outpace him.

If you could sum up Full Black in three words, what would they be?

There is much to love about this book 'Full Black' - Intrigue, action packed and a true page turner.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Full Black?

I love all the settings shared in the book. Brad Thor brings the story to life much like Ludlum, each city across the globe is brought vividly to life.
The dialogue between the reporter, Winston and Standing have an amazing, conversation over dinner, a modern thriller based on present day politics. The entire book is a fantastic thriller, case closed.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Too many to pick a favorite, I love the physicality of Scott and the interaction with the military and Seal teams.

Is your life path lit by your inner candle flame, or are you stumbling along in the dark? In Dr. Wayne Dyer's new book, he reminds us of what so many people easily forget in the day-to-day grind of life, that material success isn't what we're ultimately trying to achieve, and therefore it shouldn't be our driving force.

From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

What made the experience of listening to American Sniper the most enjoyable?

    Magnificent! An amazing story, intriguing and yet shocking;
Shocking is the devotion and sacrifice of the men and women of our armed forces who proudly serve this great nation and yet we often take for granted that our freedom is not free, but paid for in the blood sweat and tears of great patriots like Chris Kyle. Loved the book/audio and would highly recommend this to all people young and old. I believe this story deserves your attention and I give it high praise‼

The book moved in a timely easy to follow progression. The valor of these great patriots is quite remarkable. Couldn't stop listening.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Chris Kyle!!

What does John Pruden bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Realism

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared.....

Anastasia Burke says: "Hillenbrand could make even laundry fascinating!"
    "Remarkable and compelling, Bravo!"
    Overall

This is an incredible story that was brilliantly written, and has a wonderful narration by Edward Hermann. I loved this book and was just overwhelmed and astonished to hear this true account of
Louis Silvie Zamperini. You will not be able to stop listening, very compelling. Do yourself a favor and set aside some time to listen to this audio book Unbroken, you will not be disappointed.

An innocent man is about to be executed. Only a guilty man can save him. Travis Boyette is such a man. In 1998, in the small East Texas city of Sloan, he abducted, raped, and strangled a popular high-school cheerleader. He buried her body so that it would never be found, then watched in amazement as police and prosecutors arrested and convicted Donté Drumm, a local football star, and marched him off to death row.
