"A Good Listen"
A great way to gain insight into some of the fundamental practices of the early market that often still hold true today. Psychology, strategy, manipulation and perseverance are viewed through the eyes of a masterful stock player during the early days of the market.
Used as a means to gain insight into some of the foundational elements of the market I compare this book to learning long division by hand. Sure the market has evolved over time but by understanding many of the initial reasons and motivations for todays activities the listener gains a much wider sense of the market as a whole.
"Reminiscences of a Stock Operator" should be required reading for investors.
"Fantastic!"
I debated on getting the 9 hour or 13 hour version but thought.. honestly a 13 hour book on Buffett... could I really listen to a story about him for that long?? Sadly I found that after purchasing the abridged version I wish I had purchased the unabridged version.. the content is fascinating and the narrator is fantastic.
The listener gains a deep understanding about what makes Warren Buffett who he is and provides great insight into what are truly the most important things in our lives from someone who could buy anything he wanted.
Shrewd business saavy, moral commitment and humbleness all combine to make Warren Buffett a unique and fascinating individual.
"Interesting Reading"
I found the book to be helpful and well written/spoken. I could use a few more like this to help me get my life in order.
"Enjoyed it"
Clear, concise and educational. I found this book to be very focused on the issues I was really interested in hearing about. Selective Contrarianism, Durable Competitive Advantage etc. Worth the money.
