"The story of Danny Dunn"
I downloaded this particular book after hearing the author Bryce Courtenay interviewed on the radio. It sounded great. I have enjoyed other books that he has written. It was a great story, with a very unexpected ending. The author has a talent for being able to describle something or someone in such a way that it comes alive to the reader. My only criticism is that these descriptions can become a bit long winded and tedious.
"An emotional rollercoaster"
A great read. Lots of details that required the listener to give the story line their full concentration.
"An interesting study of human nature"
This story evoked many emotions such as happiness, relief, frustration, anger and sadness, just to mention a few.
"A brilliant story"
This was an amazing book. Bryce Courtenay has done it again. I couldn't put this book down I didn't want it to end. There was great attention to detail and the story left no loose ends, which is what I like.
"A brilliantly researched story"
What a wonderful story. It covered both fact and fiction. The characters were very believable. Not only a great read but the best history lesson I have ever had.
"An absolutely wonderful story"
This story was brilliant. I couldn't put it down. All the characters were engaging and evoked all sorts of emotions. The end was unexpected and sad.
"Soul searching."
I found the Atonement Child hard to put down. It was very thought provoking. It was very true to life in as much as nothing is clear cut or black and white........there are many shades of grey.
"A Wonderful Story"
What an inspirational man with an incredible faith. The Lord works in mysterious ways and this was very true in Brother Yun's life.
"A truly great read."
I read the first two books of this trilogy in hard copy and was thrilled to be able to download the third. What a brilliant story. Having been brought up in Box Hill I enjoyed the references to this and nearby suburbs. The use of coloquial Australian language made it more familiar.
"an interesting read"
This was an interesting book and quite informative. Unfortunately it wasn't quite what I expected.
"A truly great read"
Another brilliant book by James Patterson. What an imagination! I was engaged after the first few minutes.
